Have a Seat on the Couch...
Therapy. I was curious as to how many providers think of themselves as therapists. And is it more physical or mental? How many problems do you hear? Do you give advice? Or just listen?

I know I sure do, so many have things or issues that they "need" to talk about but do not want to with their RL friends or family for fear of showing signs of weakness or that they won't understand. With us they know its kept confidential and yes I do give advise, but mostly just a sympathetic ear which is what is all most really need & want . Some just want their feelings validated, because they do have valid concerns.

I rarely give any advice... I don't feel like I'm in any position to. Usually I'll offer a different perspective if they want me to reciprocate. Otherwise I just listen.

Doc,
You are on a roll with some of your threads.
It depends on the level of the game we play, but the level of ladies I see, the ladies I enjoy most, do provide more than just a physical release. The spiritual release is what kept me around this long.
In the days of old, before ASPD & ECCIE, the BP ladies I saw never satisfied me. Every time I visited a lady I would kick myself for wasting my money. But with more professional ladies, with a connection, therapy does take on a new meaning. And I would venture to say the ladies who succeed the best, who are able to charge the best rates, who have repear clients, who last the longest and have the lowest burnout rate, are the ladies who realize that the services provided are much more than just as a depository for sperm that so many seem to think.
Same token, I have met many ladies who need that connection, need a shoulder, need some support and are willing to trade some time in the sack in order to meet their needs.
The problem is that you are looking at two broke parties in most of these interactions. It is really easy for more damage to occur when a broken person suffering from their own problems hooks up with another downtrodden individual. Recognizing your needs and understanding the limits that the other person can have with regards to helping you is the difference between a positive interaction and a trainwreck. The potential for good is there, but the potential for a major crash is much higher.

No disrespect to the ladies, I'm not there for advice or deep conversation. If it is therapy I'm after, it is of the purely physical in nature... an opportunity to try new things or get better at other things.

I am not a therapist, the only problems I solve are the ones in your briefs. But you can feel free to let some steam go and rant about your everyday problems while slobber on your knob. Just kidding yes I do listen to their troubles and concerns and try to offer as much helpful advise as I can, I enjoy being a person my friends can vent to- because I know they can't be as explicit with regular people about their problems as they can with me.

Okay, here's a tangential question. Has anyone heard of sexual surrogates? These are supposed therapists who help people with certain sexual hangups. With some, sessions do become sexual encounters. Also, has anyone used a sexual surrogate?

I wacthed a doc about SS (sex surrogates) and it was very mind opening at first I thought it was another guise such as holistic prostitution but those ladies are very knowledgeable in their field and are very successful in helping people overcome certain hangups.

I'm a friend. Not a therapist, to those I enjoy.
And if they happen to have something burdensome or joyful they wish to talk about. Then I lend a shoulder and an ear, as a friend. And only give my input as a friend and only if they want input.
This hobby lifestyle, is about both mental & the physical. How can it not be!!

I asked myself what was wrong. Fuck!!! I had to sit and listen to myself for 45 fucking minutes. I told myself to calm down and things will get better. I'm not really comfortable talking to anyone so I had a hard time speaking up. I gave myself a prescription for some Robitussen and told me to get more sleep. I felt good when I left myself but I'm totally pissed off because I charged myself way too fucking much.
Now is there a provider out there that can give me some therapy?
