Civilians and others not involved in $4play have STDs.

For those that make the 'moral' claim, what about turning a blind eye to homeless people? Those starving or just poverty in general? Is it morally sound to ignore these injustices? Child abuse? Domestic violence? It's morally right to stop these things. Corruption and the way corporations and government officials go about. Is all that morally acceptable to watch and do nothing?

Because two adults want to spend an hour together, we have to have LAWS in place to prevent it, because of 'morals'?

Oh, I'm soooo not compelled.
It's not even about morals. Look at pornography. It's just about money.

Hey Kandy...first off, it is NOT legal in Vegas or Reno. But in the other counties of Nevada

Answer OP ???'s...not a logical reason. Something to do with the Moral Religious, God-fearing people of US...that type of bullshit

But when it comes to making war....we as nation are pretty good at that

It's rather sad

1) Divert the morality issue. Explain to the voters that prostitution is morally reprehensible (you don't have to actually believe this; remember, you're a politician), but resources are scarce, and resources need to be focused on human trafficking. Resources spent on stopping consenting adults are resources not spent saving victims of human trafficking. Get some traditional churches on board, and you're in good shape.

2) Hit the economic angle, hard. Times are tough. Our infrastructure is collapsing. The national debt is skyrocketing. The sky is falling (this might be an exaggeration). If it's legal, it can be taxed -- cha ching! "I don't know about you, honey, but I think this new road rides really well. It's so smooth, and...tight,...and...what was I talking about?" Don't use the last part of that example. Anyway, new roads, schools, monuments to Puritan forefathers, etc. can be built with money generated from taxing "the hobby." It can also be regulated. Heavy fines for operating in restricted zones -- cha ching! More roads and other government goodies!

3) Hit the therapeutic angle. This might only play in California (think medical marijuana), but find research on the mental health benefits of folks getting enough O's.

4) Don't play the racial angle. That will negate all of the above. No offense, that's just how I think it will play politically.

Good luck with your campaign,
EW
Therapeutic BJ.... works for me! LOL

If you want to hear arguments about why it should be illegal, this is the wrong place to hear them. I'd say most of us here are for legalization or decriminalization. Elsewhere, you can find those kinds of arguments, but you probably won't find them compelling. Logic is not a forte of the voting public.

Good luck with your quest.
