Default Do you think the teachers at Sandy wish they had been armed?

The left is screaming for more gun control and some have demanded a gun ban. Okay, answer me this; if you had asked the teachers and administrators at Sandy Hook whether or not they would face down this freak with a gun or without a gun. How do you think they would answer? How would you answer if the mall or business you were in were under attack?

In these times I would really hope somebody in my baby's school is packing heat.
He goes to a special school that is 100% handicap accessible so they don't have any doors on the inside of the building (yes it's fucking wierd). I'm wondering how the fuck they are going to lock down on the inside without any doors to lock.

Ask anybody on the maiden voyage of the Titanic if they would have given up their birth and taken a later ship.

Ask anybody if they should have stayed home from work if they worked in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.

My God you are a complete tool.

Ignore the fact that dying in a mass shooting is close to the odds of winning a state lottery while every gun in a school increases the odds of an accidental shooting death where no chance of it existed before.

What is the stat?
30,000 homicides, suicides, and accidental deaths a year from firearms?

That's a good question.

And an important one now that you've told the wackos on this board that there is a school full of basically immobile targets in a school with no doors located in Birmingham.

Oops!

What percent of ones shot were women? I know from reports the woman principal charged him and lost her life.Would she have shot if armed? Most women teachers are there for the kids and have a nurturing way.Could they take another persons life? Kid shot his way in through locked doors most were involved in trying to get their class to safety.

What a stupid statement and accusation. Are you really so stupid to insinuate that those who are not of the same polititcal leaning as you on this board would commit such an act? That is such a dispicable statement and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Gun control is already there.

Did you know you cant drive with out taking a test and getting a licence?
You cant drink unless you are 21 or older?

No matter what, laws will be broken to complete something.
Thats all there is to it. No ammount of banning or control is going to fix anything.

They want to make pot legal so they can control it better
They want to ban weapons to control them better.

Make up your mind. Should we ban something for better control or make them legal

I'll break my response into parts.

First a gun ban will not magically make all guns disappear. The criminals and insane will get their hands on a gun. Not to mention it is against the 2nd amendment of the US Constitution.

Next, asking the teachers/admin if they would have blown the little bastard away is a moot point. No where in the US is a person, other than LE, allowed to carry into a school building. Doesn't matter if that person is licensed to carry in that state. And most, if not all, school districts prohibit employees from bringing a handgun to work. Even when the employee is licensed to carry and the handgun is concealed in their locked personal vehicle. Did you ever stop to think about why the crazies mostly target college campuses and schools? It's because they know they will have free reign to kill until LE shows up. It's a wonder that this latest shooting did not result in 200 kids dying rather than the 20 that did.

And last. If I personally were in a situation where a gunman was shooting up a business I was in is a little tougher question. I've given some thought to that in the past and I'm pretty sure my response (blowing the bastard away) would be based on whether or not I was directly threatened. By that I mean if the shooter was aiming in my direction then yes he's a dead man.

My God you are a complete tool.

Yes JD is.

Why doesn't he ask them if we/he are willing to pay more in tax's for better mental health care for those among us that should not be allowed to carry a gun.

Just last week , JD was bitching about folks with mental issues that were leaving the military not being able to purchase guns without a Judge's order!

That SOB is the most twisted poster in here, besides COG!

Stupid mutherfuckers like that rush to war with a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and then do not address the real issue with gun control measures. Which is more a mental health care issue.

Default Seriously bad analysis

From the "been there/done that" camp . . .

Do you really think an armed school principal (with any type of weapon) will have any impact on a mentally impaired (and highly focused) nutcase with a .223 Bushmaster (clipped and backup ammo in hand)?

The "count" would only increase . . .

Please try to put some level of intelligence into the discussion!

Talk about twisted. What I was saying last week was a discussion going on in the US Senate about taking away 2nd amendment rights from people that had a history of ANY mental or emotional problems by way of a bureaocrat and not a doctor. The ones being targetted were over 100,000 veterans because the federal government already has their records. That is what I really said WTF, you lying fuckwad.

As for women shooting, go ask the Israel military if women can shoot to kill.

Interesting to note that when authorities arrived Lanza killed himself when he realized he was going to meet force. I expect one person (just an opinion) had engaged him at the entrance he would have retreated or killed himself then.

I'm not sure I want' teachers packing......but.....

Do any of us think that an armed security guard at schools would help to stop these type of events?

1. I think the assault weapons ban needs to return.
2. Mental health issues need to be dealt with a little more seriously.
3. We need to consider armed security at schools (sadly)

Ban "gun free" zones.........they are a magnet for the mass killers.

Yes, it seems that "gun free" zones attract this sort of event. Munchie, the word is "berth". You had me scratching my head for a minute.

What is the difference between a cop and a teacher? Training would probably be number one. So we have a program for veterans to become teachers (thank you very much). Won't a former soldier be a good person to allow to carry a gun in a school? Or be a triage medic? So do you prefer a vet to be a medic or guardian?
