Exclamation How to Be Safe: You Can't Play the Game if You Don't Know the Rules

Hello. How are you? If you're a hobbyist, are you still hung over from New Year's? If you're a provider, have you paid your January rent?

Nearly every day, I'll get messages from members asking questions about laws and policies regarding the hobby when those questions are answered at length in posts stickied to the top of the legal forum.

What, you didn't know Eccie has a legal forum? It's called:

A Question of Legality

Every Eccie member should take the time to read the stickied posts. The ass you save may be your own.

As an added bonus, below is something I wrote recently that was well-received by members with bad taste who are easily pleased. Enjoy!

------------------------------------------------------

Security Reminders from the Perpetual Nag, ShysterJon

The following are my views only. Your views may differ, and I respect that, although I'm right and you're wrong. Feel free to add your views, although I probably won't read them.

------------------------------------------------------

SECURITY REMINDERS!

I've practiced criminal law throughout Texas for more than 35 years. I've handled hundreds, if not thousands, of prostitution cases. I represent fuckers and fuckees. I read professional articles and published cases about prostitution. I talk to my lawyer buddies over booze, cigars, and cards about our prostitution cases. The common factor in 99.99% of arrests for prostitution is that one or both parties discussed specific sex acts or money or both. A hobbyist gets horny or a provider has rent to pay, and that leads to careless, dangerous behavior.

Eccie serves many good purposes, and one is this site should make it unnecessary for a provider and hobbyist to discuss particular sex acts or money. The Welcome Wagon, ads, websites, and reviews should provide all the information a hobbyist needs to make a prudent jizz-inducing decision.

Ironically, some new providers post in the Welcome Wagon and omit their menu and price. I guess they think they're being sneaky and John Law will leave them alone. Providers and hobbyists post in stupid codes -- roses and money signs ($) are common -- thinking that somehow will shield them from criminal liability. Ridiculous! All that omitting menus, leaving out prices, and using codes does is create confusion that leads to dangerous, private discussions about money and sex acts.

(btw, under Texas law, and probably under the laws of most states, advertising sexual services for money isn't illegal. In Texas, proving the offense of prostitution occurred usually involves proof of an offer or acceptance. It is a fundamental legal principle that an ad isn't an offer.)

An experienced hobbyist learns to tell the provider he wants to see: (1) his references (provider handle, phone number, and email); (2) a few days and times the provider can choose from to see him; and (3) the amount of time he wants to book. THAT'S IT. NOTHING ELSE.

When the provider and hobbyist are together, in person, money will be discreetly paid and sexual activities will take place, but there should be no discussion of money or sex beforehand. The script has already been written. Now all the players need do is act it out.

Default More safety tips

When I write about dangerous communications, I'm mainly referring to you bad girls. If you're desperate, or greedy, or high, you get careless. I don't mean that as a knock -- I'm just stating the truth based on decades of experience and hundreds of cases. If I took all the police offense reports I've read where a provider was careless in communicating and made a stack, the stack would be taller than me. And I'm not talking about John Law being sneaky or subtle. I'm talking about him coming right out and asking something like, "How much extra for Greek?," and the provider answering with a dollar figure. If you do that, you've committed the offense of prostitution under Texas law, although no money has changed hands and no sexual conduct has occurred.

If you're a provider and you're reading this and thinking, I'd never do that, rethink your SOP. The jails are full of providers who thought they were too smart to be ensnared in the simplest of traps. If the "hobbyist" tries to turn the conversation to money or sex acts, you must have the discipline to punt and move on to the next target. I love you all and I don't want your fine asses sitting in cells.
