This is a photo of a tactical unit (you know like a SWAT team) and not the regular Bobbie. Don't know what you mean by "regular Bobbie" ...there are officers on foot patrol with weapons regular bobbies--you know those tall guys with the funny looking helmets and peculiar accents like the guy who shooed me off the second floor across from Buckingham Palace.
Why did it take 20 minutes for someone with a weapon to respond? He was near a military barracks .. which is where he was headed. what does his location, or this, have to do with anything? The fact is that it took the police 20 minutes to respond to a bloody attack in broad daylight.
Give me a country where people walk around armed and these guys wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes much less to make a porno. They had already run him over with a car and in less than 10 seconds a person is dead with a meat cleaver. Nothing would have saved this solder but that was not the point of what I said, I am talking about taking this bastards out to protect the public and prevent their escape... and maybe some revenge.
So to conclude; there is a small, very small likelihood that a English citizen will be armed during a terrorist attack. See below. I didn't include the picture but that is about how many guns you can find in a small American town. I'm not impressed with a staged photo where all the weapons were probably collected over a large area.

It took 14 minutes per Scotland Yard. They ran the poor guy over with a car and then started in on him with knives and cleavers. Doesn't sound like it would have made much difference if he'd had a gun, or if the cops were 5 minutes away.
I think people in Great Britain are OK with their gun laws. 155 gun deaths in 2010. We had what? 30,000? But, of course, the Brits are at the mercy of their tyrannical government, right? I know that keeps them awake at night. And, they don't get to indulge themselves in bizarre vigilante fantasies where they shoot down all the bad guys with their junk-ass Taurus handgun. Knucklehead.
I guess the upside is their 6 year olds get to live to be 7 rather than being shot down in their classrooms by a lunatic with access to an assault rifle.
