Yes that is what we have been waiting on....for you to Prove there haven't been any.

Regarding your other statement, the 92 page summary judgement provides the evidence of Trump fraud. It is a civil case so you can't refer to it as a crime.

But you haven't read it anyway. You are more of a cartoon and video guy - not a scholar or someone that relies on facts.

Well I went and looked up the statute that was used to investigate and prosecute Trump and his businesses.

https://casetext.com/statute/consoli...general-duties

The law was written and passed in 1956. The text of the law gives the attorney general sweeping powers to investigate and prosecute crimes against fraudulent activities. The power to shut down businesses committing said fraud. The power to fine people and businesses that committed fraud for restitution.

I would think that the legislature that passed the law was cognizant of its purpose and powers. They had the opportunity to repeal or modify the law for almost seventy years and failed to do so.

New York is a hub of international business and politics. I would think that they wanted the power to police fraudulent activities and individuals who chose to do business in their community. So that they could assure the community that law trumps fraud. That everyone plays on an even field.

Whether you think that the prosecution is politically motivated is irrelevant. Whether you think the fine is egregious is irrelevant. Whether you think that appointing a monitor for the business is irrelevant. The fact is that he was found guilty and now has to pay the piper.

In truth by fraudulently obtaining those loans he presumably pushed out other competing companies that may have been trying to get funding. Companies that presumably didn’t fraudulently inflate their assets.

I think that the Attorney General is sending a message to every one who chooses to do business in new york that overvaluing their assets is suspect and doing so fraudulently is no longer acceptable. That everyone should take a good look at their business practices to verify that they comply with the law.

The Supreme Court can rule in any manner the majority wishes.

If 5 of them say that the State of New York has levied a fine that is so excessive that it violates Trump’s civil rights under the 8th Amendment, that’s it.

I think this is exactly what is going to happen.

Your point? You've posted it several times! Nonsense

He lied. It's been proven.
It went thru the legal process and he has to pay. End of story

Everybody else does it. Won't cut it.
Everybody else was speeding doesn't make it legal.
Many things can be considered politically based. So what.

He lost
Don't care if he's the first or last in this type of case.
He lied. He lost

You do realize that Trump has already been prosecuted under this law twice already.

This is not Trump’s first run-in with New York’s anti-fraud law. His nonprofit Trump Foundation agreed to shut down in 2018 over allegations he misused funds for political and business interests. And his Trump University was sued under the law in 2013 for allegedly misleading thousands of students with false promises of success but it had closed before it could be shuttered by the courts. Trump eventually settled this and related cases for $25 million.

That to me shows an understanding of the law and intent to commit further fraud in the future. It’s no wonder that he was prosecuted. He knew what he was doing and did it anyway.

You do realize that this law is so intentionally vague you could be guilty of it if you lived in NY? what would you think of that?

That’s a load of crap and you know it. Most people don’t commit fraud and the ones that do hardly do so at the size and scope that Trump did.

I wonder how many of the above posters read the 92 page summary judgement, to see the
facts about the fraud Trump has committed over decades.

We know 1 virulent poster has not read it. His comments are sounding more and more like comic book speech.

He can't even understand how a judgement can be rendered because there is no "victim".

One easy example for him is a speeding ticket. There is no "victim". But the law has been broken.

This may interest some of the MAGAs:

"Trump says he never swore to 'support' the Constitution"

"Lawyers for former President Donald Trump filed a brief stating he never made an oath, as president, to “support” the Constitution."

Yet here he is, producing a hail mary, trying to use the 8th Amendment. Wonder when he came up with this idea ?

Same old wiggly, slimy Trump. Ask the investors in his NJ casinos. They got wiped out. Trump ?

"I made a lot of money in Atlantic City." is his famous line. Maybe he should give that back to the investors too.

Technically that’s correct. The language of the oath of office for the president is

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:–I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Make of that what you will.
