Default Using Candles and Wax

What is the type of candle wax that doesn't burn the skin? I'm thinking that it's beeswax or the softer wax that you can find in the novena candles.

I'm having a brain fart and want to make some candles myself and am not remembering a lesson that I had a few years back at Beyond Vanilla.

Dammit.

Help!

Hugs,
Elisabeth

Novena candles are good. There are low temp candles at craft stores, those are Great. Because they melt at lower temps you are still going to get the drip of the wax and Some heat. But,,it strongly reduces your odds of a serious burn.

All candles work.
You may want to hold them higher from the place your wax is dripping.

It also depends of the sub's tolerence to pain.

I have found that scented candles are prone to allergic reactions. DallasRain and jsparrow provide excellent lnfo links.

Play safely!!

I have used regular candles and novena candles. I prefer novena candles because it is easier to pour the wax.

Hey Red Rock, I am glad you mentioned about allergic reactions. I have been fortunate that no one has had an allergic reaction so far. Something to keep in mind next time I am shopping for candles.

The novena candles work the best. They are kinda self contained, cheap and don't look out of place just sitting around. Beeswax melts at a higher temp and will burn the hell out of you. Unless that is your thing.

If you're doing heavy wax play, spreading a layer of mineral oil will work nicely to keep wax from sticking onto the hairs.

I've had boyfriends burn me in the past with candles. I even had a client take a candle off of my mantle, pour it on me and actually burn my skin.

There are candles that won't burn and it does help to hold them higher. It's the soft wax, I'm staring to remember!, that won't burn your skin.

Perfect example are those novena candles. Thanks for the responses. I appreciate it!
