That said, I do know one couple in their fifties with whom the wife is totally cool with hubby banging girls for money. But, that's the only one I know.

Are there any else here who knows a wife who knows but is fine with it? Is it more common than I thought? Or is it an oddity?

I'm gonna have to disagree! I think its perfectly fine for a married man to see a provider from time to time! Its straight to the point and private. He's not out running the streets dating and being out all night with some other woman. Its a scheduled session and hes goes home with less stress, and his wife has the night off! husband has less stress... wife has the night off... and provider gets paid.. Everybody wins!!!

BS. If the wife knows and accepts it - fine. Otherwise it is betraying a trust. I will not judge decisions others make, because there might be valid reasons for them doing it, but at least be honest about what they are doing.

I agree with that, totally! I'm not even saying lying about it is bad. I'm just saying a man who gets caught deserves everything the wife throws at him, knives and pans included!


Edit: what Laz said. Marriage is a bond, decisions are either shared or delegated. If you break that, you break the bond.

Look, I'm not trying to get on a high horse here, I'm 31 and never married because I can't cut it! I did raise a little girl for six years and leaving her and her mom was tuff. But you know what, I did it because staying together was making everyone more miserable than not. It's hard to find someone you can spend the rest of your life with who feels the same. I'm not arguing that, I'm just saying take care of your business at home and don't bring it to the hobby so to speak.

My wife and I have have a don't ask don't tell relationship. I have no doubt if she found out she would be hurt (hence the don't tell part), but I wouldn't expect her to lash out at me much.

It seems another example of "I'm special, I'm allowed to bend/break the rules, but YOU are not!" Or is it an attempt to limit the competition?

Yeah, I wish it were legal. I don't like lying. And if you break the law, you have to lie. Staff edit, forbidden topic, CC. Or go out on moral grounds and do jail time for doing something I believe should be legal. Has my boss asked me? No. But if they did, I would owe up to it as they deserve to know as they're paying me. But, I'm never under the influence on the clock and doesn't effect my work performance otherwise, so I owe them that. Has any girl I've been in a relationship with asked? Yes. And all but one was cool with it. And that one I quit for, for the time we were together.

I am not upset that married guys are here nor will I judge them. I was in a lousy marriage for 24 years and could easily see myself making the decision to see a provider and feel no guilt over it so I understand why some people make the choices they do. I am just saying to be honest about it and coming up with justifications that apply universally is silly.
