OGD Shooting
From the Akron Police:
"Shooting at Bar Leaves One Dead.
This morning at approximately 2:28 am, Akron Police officers responded to the 900 block of Old Main Street after receiving multiple calls about a shooting at Ole Glory Daze.
When officers arrived, they found two men, ages 31 and 44, who sustained gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began administering emergency medical care.
The preliminary investigation revealed the incident began in the parking lot, where the younger male approached the older male and shot him multiple times.
The injured man ran back inside the bar before collapsing. The 31-year-old followed him inside and was seen reaching toward his pockets when the 44-yearold brandished a firearm and returned fire, fatally striking him. The 31-year-old was pronounced deceased on scene.
The 44-year-old was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to investigate and process the scene. This investigation is in its early stages and remains ongoing.
