Lafayette and Lake Charles introduction
I am new to ECCIE and these cities, just want to introduce myself and get some advice from locals.
What area of town is best to stay in Lake Charles? Should I avoid casinos?
In Lafayette, I would like to try some good Cajun Food, any suggestions.

Lafayette - Poorboys Riverside Inn, Dons Seafood Hut and Fezzos for food. And DEFINITELY stay far far away from any hotels on University or the Thruway - the north side of town!

The hotels near the LC Casinos are probably easier to deal with than the casinos themselves.
Food, Pat's of Henderson, Darrell's
