Default 2010-2011 Chiefs Season

The NFL season has started.. There is talk whether or not there will be a season next year and I have to say that makes Queen very sad.. Im hoping that our chiefs have a great season cause if they dont I will have to buy a new TV lol. There has been alot of request for the goal post and due to the contents of that pic and the rules I was not sure I could post it or not so I made a few lil changes and will post it today since it is Red Friday. Ill stick with what I said last year. If they win Ill keep it up.. If they dont well then it comes down. so lets cheer for our boys and see if we cant have a winning season!!!!!!

I say 7-9. BUT we shall see. I am always one for someone turning over a new leaf, and surprising the hell out of people. However, I am also not the biggest idiot in the world, so I am sticking with my predictions I made this summer....7-9 (at best). I will be super stoked though if they can win their 1st game!!!

Go CHEFS!!!

If the Chiefs win, they lead the AFC West (however briefly).

I'm going to have to agree with Bottomless here and say 7-9 or thereabouts is where they'll end up. I was more happy to see the Broncos lose yesterday than I thought possible.

Tonight's game may very well set the tone for the season. My prediction....if they win...or at least play a very good game, they will go 9-7. If they loose because they played like last year.....7-9.

I say 8-8 this year and they make the playoffs as a wildcard next year(if there is a season next year). It all comes down to number 7 and if he can play QB or not, I think that if he has another down year we really have to look towards a QB for the future. As long as I care to remember, we have never had a real franchise QB. We have always just gone and got some other teams back up. I remember several years ago thinking that the Chiefs should have went after Drew Brees in the draft (he went in the second round) or should have made a play for him when he was a free agent.

I was very excited to see them pull out a win, but their ultra conservative play calling in the second half almost cost them the game. You can't sit on a 14 point lead against a good high scoring offensive team and expect to win. That is probably a recipe for disaster 8 out of 10 times.

Default Wet and Happy ...

Just got back from the Chief's game, thus the title. Wow, what a finish. Two 4 down stands in the red zone! Queen, gonna have to keep the goal posts up!

I just got back and dried off myself. Wow...what a tale of two QB's. Cassell goes 10/22 with a whopping 68 yards in the air. How many games are you gonna win with those numbers? Can't expect special teams and defense to do all the work. Enough bashing.

It really was an exciting game. The defense showed some gaping holes, but came through when it mattered most. The running game while not consistent, still got the job done. Special teams were spectacular!

All in all it was a very entertaining game, but not one they will win very often. There has to be more confidence and consistency behind center. I wonder how good they'd be with a QB with the pocket presence of a Rivers or Brady or Manning, ect.

Okay it was a fantastic victory and like all pro teams we on this board should do as they do, enjoy the victory for 24 hours and then get back to business. My impressions:

Defense : much, much better than I expected. The move to DE for Dorsey seems to be a career saver. Linebacking play is very, very much improved, with the exception Johnson being out of position a couple of times because of his very agressive play, which I like, D backs very much improved.

Special Teams - what can you say, last night they played like champs, very excited by this group. Very, very good coverage on kick offs and punts.

Offense - other than some poor play calling in the 3rd quarter the run offense was very effective, still concerned that they dont seem to go down field enough with the pass, hopefully they were just afraid because of the weather, but if this shows up in the next game it shows that Weiss either does not have confidense in the QB or WR which will not be good.

Overall I give them a unemotional b-, if I let emotions in then I would give them an A-
