He would likely do better here and he will be a hell of a lot cheaper than they were willing to pay him two years ago.

According to reports, of the 83 million left on his contract, the Rangers will pay 15 million while the Angels pick up the other 68 million.

IMO Hamilton is washed up and worthless.. has been since the second half of 2012, and he's worse now.. he hates Texas, and Ranger fans dislike him.
 other than that, great signing!

I also hear he beats up the elderly, sharpies penis pictures on orphans, and thinks he could take silver, bronze, and gold if strangling kittens was an Olympic event.

On the bright side though, poor children in far off countries now have accurate Hamilton shirts and jerseys |

I believe my friend Chung is wrong. Hamilton will do fairly good and ANGELs are paying him. HAHA

The current rumor is the Rangers in for $7 mil. Even at that rate, I doubt the retard is worth the headaches. Hamilton has proven over the past two years he is not worth the effort. He is 30+ years old and has the maturity level of a 10 year old. I say let the Angels eat the contract and Hamilton all by themselves.

			+1 Bravo....well said, Sir Taint.
But, hey...the Texas-faithful will cheer him, no worries. They cheered for Rondo the first time he took the court this season (yeah, that turned out real good, huh?)....they'll cheer for Hardy this fall once he's done serving his suspension (keeping fingers crossed that doesn't backfire on the Boys)....and they'll cheer for this washed up has-been, too.....

Feel sorry for Bannister....gets his first opportunity to be a major-league manager and look what he has to put up with now...

Seven million.......Lord have Mercy, Josh Daniels must be absolutely desperate to sell tickets, beer, hot dogs, etc......

In the current major leagues paying a retard $7 mil over three years is not a lot of money. The radio retards are saying low risk, high reward. I just do not thinck Hamilton is worth headaches. I admit his production the past two years is better than Rios or Choo, but he is a full on head case. He will be a pain in the clubhouse, and the Rangers' clubhouse is not as stable or strong as it was before, and during, the wonder years.
Really, why help a division rival? Why not let him stress the Angels' clubhouse? Hamilton's distractions would benefit the Rangers only if he not a Ranger.

He's better than Choo right now and better than Smolinski in all likelihood. If he turns into something, we can trade him since his contract is next to nothing for a pretty decent young kid. Sounds like a no-brainer to me.
Best possibility is that with the Angles paying $60M, we use a good bit of that cash to throw in to get someone to take Choo in trade. Would you trade Hamilton straight up for Choo now? I would. If you use 75% of LAA's money for that, it's better than straight up. Not sure that $40 million is enough to get somebody to take Choo, however.

The difference is Choo comes to play, you never know which Hamilton will show up. If, and when, Hamilton comes to play Hamilton is very good. But if he does not come to play then its very ugly. I would stick with Choo, at least one knows what he will get day to day. Plus, I would not Hamilton around any young players.

I'd hate to see what Choo bats is he didn't come to play. He's batting .135 or so.

Worth the money in my opinion. Who knows? Maybe Katie was a source of problems. Hoping he succeeds, but if he sucks it's not like he's going to tank the team into last place....

I know from first hand experience Katie was a cunt.
I would personally love to see him get things straight for himself. And if he is a marginal player so much the better for the Rangers.
