Just stopped by to say hi to see how all of you are doing. Looks like some of you are still those who make this board tick and some of you that make us not want to log on.

In May '24, my PSA had jumped up from 4.6 to 8.3 so I went to the Urologist. Had an MRI and a biopsy, luckily they caught the cancer early, very early. I have great medical, got three opinions, two from NCI designated centers. Ended up going to KU, for a Mizzou fan, that was a little hard to do. Androgen deprivation therapy can hit you hard, testosterone went from a healthy 343 to less than 10 in a few weeks. But the big T is what feeds the cancer. My PSA numbers are fantastic...way less than 1.0. And I was very blessed. Other than the energy levels, I had no incontinence, no bleeding, no irritation, no swelling, no radiation burn, no diarrhea, some weight gain but that is slowly coming off. To have this through the holidays and into the spring was no picnic. Had Proton Radiation Therapy, 28 treatments. The best treatment available, especially since surgery is not recommended at my age, nor is wait and observe.

IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING AT LEAST AN ANNUAL PSA TEST, YOU ARE WALKING A DANGEROUS LINE. A FRIEND HAS IT, PSA RARELY CHECKED AND WHEN HE DID, IT NEVER CHANGED AND NOW HE IS TERMINAL. HE HAS BEEN THROUGH ALOT, SO LISTEN TO AT LEAST THIS FROM ME. PSA TEST. PSA TEST. PSA TEST. PSA TEST.!!!!!!!
