Question Anyplace in US that does not prosecute?

I remember hearing at different times that both San Francisco and Manhattan stopped prosecuting prostitution. My question is, is this currently true? Also, are there any other places in the US that has done / is doing so?

California definitely one of the more lenient states. Some of the counties Cities can get behind enforcement.

It's not legal in either of those cities. However, Manhattan has stopped prosecuting sex workers and are going after the clients instead.

Nevada is the only state where it's legal.

Nevada: Legal in some counties, with licensed brothels that are heavily regulated and require mandatory health checks for workers. Prostitution is illegal in major cities like Las Vegas and Reno.

I knew there were a couple of cities where it wasn't legal: I just couldn't remember which ones. I know a quick Google search would have helped, but it was the middle of the night. LOL

Thanks for the info!

In Nevada, the county must have a population of less than 700,000 for prostitution to be legal. That’s why counties that have large metropolitan areas like Las Vegas and Reno do not have legalized prostitution.

In Manhattan the prosecutors have announced that they won’t prosecute hookers for the crime of prostitution. However, they do go after the pimps and traffickers

The closest brothel to Vegas is in Pahrump about 60 miles west and in Reno you only have to go about 7 east for a good time.

In Austin you can look up arrests on a local crime database called KrimeLabb. It will sort by date, by zip code, by specific crime. It's pretty clear from a quick search that APD is only going after johns shopping for streetwalkers in high crime areas and obvious high volume organized traffickers. And that's about it.
