Default "worded" phone numbers??
This is a question/statement mostly for providers.... Why is it some providers choose to spell out parts or all of thier phone number when posting ads (mostly on BP- but some are here as well)?

It's annoying as hell-especially when trying to dial direct from the ad!

Just curious if there's an actual reason or if you just think it looks cute.

So people who want to google the number won't know how to convert the word into a digit and type it into the search engine?

A better reason is that the search engines can not pull up the number in a search. If the ad is written 7four2-89zero1 it will not come up in a google search when someone googles 742-8901.

Googled it and it takes you right the the BP ad:

It is just an attempt to fool search engine spiders and web crawlers. It is also just a minor inconvenience for us gentlemen trying to dial their number or converting it for a google search.

Well..to tell ya ..when some of the providers were posting on cl..cl would not let you post a tele number without it kicking the ad back ..so they may think perhaps bp is the same way..

sometimes they think its just cute and the ad may catch a gents eye ..they may think the ad will stand out from other ladies ads....guess it worked 9tY9 you asked about it so it caught your eye

and maybe they want you to know... not only are they pretty..but that they can spell too...
