Default Attack on Pakistan: masterstroke or fuckup?

The United States military attacked a Pakistani outpost and killed 24 soldiers. Pakistan responds by closing out land access to Afghanistan and our troops. Since candidate Obama said that he would bomb Pakistan this can't be a mistake that it took the White House 24 hours to come up with.

I doubt this will stand but does this illustrate how are this guy is in over his head? I know that some of you have the ultimate excuse so let's hear it.

For such a peaceful "God fearing" nation, we get involved in more wars, have more troops stationed through out the word...than any other nation. Don't believe me....well since WWII who between US, Russia, China or any other nation has been involved in more wars, and who currently has troops stationed everywhere.

We were correct in attacking Afgan, after 9/11...mission has long been complete.
Obama said, if high value terrorist were in Pakistani land, he would not hestitate to attack....he did and we got our man. It's fucking way past time to go.

So now your going to blame him for a military fuck up???? Well then, let's look at the world's No 1 terrrorist score card....Bush and the total mess up in Iraq, if you're going to play that game

It's time for whoever is Pres to get the troops home...and I'm not just talking in this area, but places like Japan, South Korea, Europe, etc.
Let these nations rely upon themselves for a national security. And let's start pouring those resources to US citizens...and let's start by helping all the US vets who are returning and finding how weak the VA system is for helping them out. We had no problem "showing them our support", by meaningless jestures when we send them INTO combat....how about we follow thru by helping them out when they come home!!

And how about the billion of dollars in foreign aid...the military kind, not the humanitarian kind...wonder how that would help things out here in the good old USA.

Final thought, let's send this "super committee" of Congressmen, who continued to play politics, rather than solving gov't financial problems
to Afgan for a couple of months...maybe that could send a message to the rest of the Rep and Dem that it's time to stop playing politics and
actually start providing leadership in DC

Good answer, vkmaster, IMO.

But I don't think he's going to want to talk about Bush's mistakes...

# 1 Excuse...lets blame Bush ding, ding, ding except Bush can't give orders to bomb anyone and hasn't for almost three years. You need a better excuse.

FYI, I never accused anyone of anything. Read again, I just asked a question. Is that too dangerous to you?

Not excuse #1....just a logical response to your question, sorry if it is to dangerous for you to deal with. Your question, is he over his head, yea, but totally NOT for the reason you stated...duuuuu. The parrell to Bush is perfect, I'm not re-hashing just responding in a like matter as to your question. (And yes I voted for him, and probably will again, based upon the other options currently out there...but without question his first term has been disappointing to me)

So I state my response to you again, like I did in my first reply.....

He stated that if he became aware of a high value target, he would in fact go into Pakitstan.....he did find one, and went in successfully.

The military operation you referred, was a messed up situation, are you somehow saying it was on specific orders from Obama??

parallel
Pakistan
duh
who did you vote for?
what high value target?
anytime our military goes after a target in another country it had better be on the orders from the POTUS. We don't want another McArthur situation do we?

I voted for our current president

high value...Bin Laden..in this case, yes Obama's specific OK.

And please, do you really think every hit (i.e. un-man UAV's) we've taken in Pakistan had Pres specfic OK on it???. Very unlikely,
under either Bush or Obama

And I won't BS to you, I do not know who POTUS represents, but I look forward to you letting me know, seriously.

Ah, It's either Bush's fault, or Bush was worse, or Obama didn't know about it. This is getting old. It no longer matters what Bush did, what matters is what Obama IS doing, and if it is military action under his watch, it's his responsibility. Quit living in the past.

Now that would be fun, but may I suggest an alternative; let's throw the bums out, all 535 of them either now or next November!

I would suggest that we only vote the guilty ones out or anyone who has not served more than four years. So one term for president, one term for senator, and two terms for congressman all the rest can go.

I suggest a new super committee; they solve the problem or half of them will be executed. Selection made by drawing straws. That ought to light a fire under their ass.

Well first off, the Bush point was used as analogy...so sorry you missed that point.

In addition to, need inform ya, we're not living in the past... he fuck things up so much, the reality is we'll be cleaning up after that elephant for years to come.

If you choose to bury ur head, you have that god given right

@JD...I see your last post. I think the one thing we all can agree, irregardless of your point of view, we're so tired of politic games and continue to look for signs of leadership

Also, ok Cog...let's stay in the present and evaluate Obama on how he's done in the military circle in his first term.....

1)He has not started any wars....has not invaded any countries

2)He got Bin Ladin....granted I would credit this as 90% PR win, 10% strategic win, but let's face it, it was a "feel good" moment for the masses

3) He's bringing US troops home. Now I'll admit, I think he has been way to slow in bringing back our boys. But man, it's so much better than just starting up the process of sending them into battle.

Now is this a sign of a strong presidential military leader.....actually I really don't think so. But it sure beats what we have been dealing with.

And I, guess to the families of those troops, I bet they are so thankful to have them home.

It appears now that our forces were lured in to the attack by the Taliban.
