Question Dressing for Success

In my RL work-a-day world, it's business suites, dress shirts, power ties, and highly shined shoes - or go home and change for the unemployment line. It's about projecting an image that screams "SUCCESS!" (Of course - it's all image and says nothing of performance - or does it?)

What's your definintion of dressing for success? How do you dress for that all important first meeting? In that long moment before the door opens, what are you hoping to see when you lay eyes on your date for the first time? What about the third or fourth time?

I often wear a suit when I have an appointment after work and I make sure it is my best suit. I also try to wear a French cuffed shirt. Why? Because one very hot provider says she has a thing for French cuffed shirts and I hope that its a fetish sublimely held by many women.

This summer I went casual and no one held it against me. Still, I looked better in a suit, it gives me confidence and its still really hot when a lady unties my tie.

But this is a true story. I saw a younger lady who had no clue on how to undo my tie! I was dumbfounded but no one in her family and none of her beaus ever wear ties. I'm a guy from a working class background yet this still amazes me.

Default Dress for success

From a provider's standpoint I really appreciate when a gentleman takes time to dress for our appointment. I always want to put forth my best, often asking in advance if there is something special I can wear when I meet him at my door, hair, makeup, perfume if allowed. And even for outcalls I dress appropriately for where I will be meeting my date. It is very satisfying to know that our meeting is important for you to put your best forward as well! Cheers to the French cuff gentleman, I just love French cuffs...I like modeling them for you as well! lol

Lightbulb Women go crazy for a sharp dressed man...

I must agree... french cuffs and cuff-links are super sexy. As for ties, I know how to tie neck ties, but I'm all thumbs when trying to loosen them. I think it has more to do with the excitement of opening a present. I just want to rip it open!!!

In my "Real real everyday world" I also dress in a similar fashion, business suits, funky dress shirts, silky polka dot dress pants, oxfords...and my favorite....the Tie.

Nothing sexier than a woman in a tie!

yes...it's definitely a power thing.

I try to dress casually for my dtaes but always feel i do look nice. I dont show up in ripped jeans and a faded shirt. Usually wear kakies and a dress shirt. If i left my house in a suit my wife wouuld ask who's funeral am i going too!! Mine if she found out!!! LOL

bah...dress to yourself and personality.
It makes you a more interesting person, If your a outdoors hunting and fishing guy even in a corprate envoirment you can have that look without straping a winchester to your back. The cut of your jacket can be a more sport cut, the colors earthy, boots instead of lowers still shined.

If you want to look like everyone else in the office crowd, dress like em on the unemployment line.

with or without sissyfied french cuffs....ladys remember and like a genuine man....because there are so many fake men. Full of show and pretense....empty on substance

I am fortunate to live in a World where people could care less about how you dress, they are only interested in what you know, and what you can do.

As a provider how much would you say that your wardrobe and the gestalt of that outfit, is important when you have an encounter? Do you usually put your best fit forward because in a lot of cases in this business you might not see a certain person again as a client or would you do it because it is part in parcel of the clients fantasy? Also what are the differences that you would make in your appearance when having a civilian encounter as opposed to an encounter within the hobby?

Gents ask us to dress in costume all of the time... school girl, slutty secretary, psychologist, etc. It's kind of nice to have a gent dress for us.

I once found out that one of my "friends" wore a hard hat and overalls to work. I could not resist asking him to wear his work attire to our meeting. Let's just say, that hard had came in handy AND it is an experience I will NEVER forget!

I'm just saying... bring on your camouflage, snake boots, waders (or Marine dress blues as the case may be).

I'm a nineties, nirvana granola chick, yes even now. But godamn if I don't love a suit. And peeling a man out of one. I think it's that whole power/anti power thing. Even though it's a much different world now. Tattoos are hip, casual wear is the norm in the workplace. The suit is not the statement it used to be. But yeah, if he shows up in a good suit. Fuck yeah. Feel like a little girl. Judy wanna please you.

Ah, love the topic, OP. Nice post.

ZZ says, 'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man!' Some ladies here seem to suggest 'tis true.

Dressing for success though is simply wrapping a package with the same quality as the gift inside.

Thank you JD.

Ladies - To remove a gentleman's tie - with your left hand grasp the knot and gently pull down with a slight side-to-side wiggling motion. Once loosened, grasp the tie that goes around his neck with your right hand and continue pulling the material up through the knot. Loosen tie to taste. Look affectionately into his eyes. Unbutton his collar...Whisper how much you adore a well-dressed man...Kiss his neck, then his cheek, then...
