Default Dallas once had sanctioned red light district, for short bit anyway

https://davidkirkpatrick.wordpress.c...-prostitution/

I figure something on this Dallas 1910-1913 time period has been posted on eccie before, but it's especially interesting now.

Dallas still has a few red light districts, different tracks where there's plenty of whores ready to drain and take loads🥜💋💦💦💦👍💯

That's an interesting article. I see that eventually Christians united and killed off the Frogtown district I guess around the time the temperance movement took hold and prostitution started becoming illegal across the country for the first time in the early 1900s.

It's understandable why women obsess about vaginal purity. If you're some women stuck married off young to a guy as a virgin having to raise his kids and sew his clothes and fuck only him all the time or you will go to Hell it must have been really frustrating to see free living liberated women making money on their own.

kansas city, mo had a red lught district on the north end of downtown.
while up there on a bizness trip, i saw a documentary produced by local PBS station about it. it was an "interview" w/ a "workung girl" from one of the brothels. very interesting w/ photos and newspaper article photos. all sorts frequented the brothels, esp businessmen, govt people, and common guys. no shooting, murders, other violent crime tolerated.
as with the dallas area, eventually, kc city govt (city or county) shut it down.

one of the best parts of the documentary / interview - it was video recorded in front of a small audience in a kc city public library !!

there used to be some prostitutes on Thomas St south of Hall by the Hendersons Fried Chicken.
there used to be LOTS of prostitutes on Cedar Springs between Oak Lawn & Douglas. so many that it became like "Lion Country Safari" with cars driving up & down the street gawking at them. so many that DPD setup drivers license/outstanding warrants checkpoints. it was like a zoo/amusement park.

those were the days ....

Wasn't the Frisco area, circa 1995, essentially a red light district? All of those mobile homes with escorts seemed to operate with impunity back then.

Yeah I remember driving down 121 and there wasn't much of anything until you hit the '121 hot tub club' lol.

In the 70s I used to hear a lot about the "hos" on Cedar Springs. I regret that I didn't ever cruise up and down "International Wildlife Park" ha(that park at 30 & Beltline also had a 3rd name - World of Animals, the original name I believe) when that was going on, just to see it at least.

Irving's was probably never officially legal though, I'm guessing...am I right? The massage parlors along Esters Rd, back when that was the outskirts, I figure were tolerated by police for a time..but hard to imagine Irving law books allowing it..

i went several times just to watch. i never attempted to pickup any street walker, esp w/ all the cops down there. it was more for entertainment. even saw lots of carscof families w/ young teens checking it out.

my buddies & i almost went w/ one of the SWs by Hendersons Fried Chicken, but we werent bold/brave/foolish enuf.
but Hendersons served some damn good fried chicken late nite!

I was a huge fan of the car girls on Harry Hines in the late 90's to 2000's
