Default Donna Summer, Queen of Disco, dead at 63

More than a disco queen, Donna Summer helped define the genre with her strong vocals and energetic melodies. She was easy on the eyes. She died from cancer in Florida.

How sad. Enjoy the "Last Dance," Donna. We will miss you.

Shocking news. She was a beautiful, talented artist who survived the excesses associated with the industry. She was too young. Hail and farewell to the Queen of Disco! She will be missed.

She lived large! I stayed in a house of hers in Lake Tahoe that had been turned into a nice B&B. Anybody that has a house there is all good in my book. Heaven on Earth. RIP.

Sad news.

Many of us have fond memories of the "disco era" in the 1970s. Some of us who grew up in Dallas enjoy reminiscing about chasing girls in the area's clubs. Donna Summer's work epitomized the music of the time.

I remember listening to some of her high-energy music on the cassette player (remember those?) in my car.

Those were the days!

Default Reminds me of the old Jackson Browne song, "Stay", 8 track and cassettes on stereo. We got Richard Pryor on video!

There was 8 track before cassette! First thing I put in my car was a 8 track player. Remember buying Bad Company

Yeah, I started out with one of those clunky 8-track players when I was in college in the late 1960s. Remember how big those tapes were?

They made carrying cases for toting around a dozen or so of those bulky cassettes. The damn cases were about the size of a large fishing tackle box!
