Disappearing Treads... WTF?

Can I ask why threads are starting to disappear again... I thought that the times of treads completely disappearing had ended.

But alas it seems to be happening again.

Yesterday I made a comment on a misfired review thread only to have the whole thread vanish...
not that big a deal but once something is posted and commented on then it should not be removed.

And just now I was making a comment on a threAD only to have it vanish when I hit the send button...
There were multiple replies to that threAD and even though it is most likely a good thing that my comment was not made, it still should not have vanished.

Sorry, some things are temporarily removed for repairs, then returned ....and other times, things like misfired reviews ...will soon be replaced by a new and improved version of the same thing.

The review thread I do understand... just found it odd that it was taking so long.

As for the other... what was broken about it besides it being very close to boarding on the side of an AD instead of a threAD?

It's weird, they will remove reviews or threads at will, but when the OP request to have a review or thread removed, they won't.
They say because others have replied and they can't.
Did I miss that rule, or is there a rule, about having something removed.
I know reviews or threads can be revised by a mod.
But never removed.
