Why I don't see Indies...

A bit of, I guess, a rant.

I tried to book an appointment on Saturday 12/27/2014 with a Indy provider who posted in the Houston weekend section. There was no contact information except them saying they were on p411. Fine... if you have a p411 account. I PM'd her and received a rather speedy response. I had provided her with a contact information for a owner of an Agency I knew very well and against my better judgement, even a website where she could find out more information about me. I also provided a cell phone number explaining to them that within a short period of time, I would not be able to have access to a computer. We PM'd back and forth about four times and began to realize that she was starting to ask for the absurd (IMO).

Now, I can understand precautions and the need for verification, but some ladies go frigging over board.

Here is the problem I 'personally' have:

#1 - my professional and personal calendar is such that I generally have to book appointments the same day and in many instances only have a 3 - 4 hour window of opportunity. I know most Indies (as well as hobbyists) have a life outside of the hobby and I will say, I understand when my availability doesn't fit theirs.

#2 - the majority of Indies answer their own phones and you can't always get them immediately and sometimes it can take 2, 3, 4 hours to get into contact with them. (Yes I understand you may be in a session).

#3 - but this is the one that I can never understand. A hobbyist must provide two or three other Indy references. It is like the employer saying, "I can't hire you, you don't have any experience." How does one get experience until they are hired? This particular Indy I was wanting to see stated that the majority of my reviews (which now total 100) was predominately agencies. Do you Indy ladies understand that Agencies today have almost or more stringent verification standards as you?

I know these comments will probably will not change anything. But I just wanted to voice a frustration. I do think Indies need to have more flexibility and take into consideration more factors than they do to vet a person before seeing them.

Stick to agencies, or pay your dues and see 3 newbie friendly providers. Get p411! Nobody here got to see exactly who they wanted to see until they had good references. Indy's don't like agency references because most times they don't screen.

It's the defacto standard for verification here.

I don't see indies very much anymore because I can get awesome providers at almost half price in the agencies right now. Lat Para, Lat pleas, AH.

Yup same here.... I either go Agency or FBSM
I can still see a few Indy Providers here on Ecvie but why when when I get what I need cheaper faster and most times younger 20 - 25 and multiple pops for half what most Indy providers charge.
MaShaft your post is exactly why I stay with the Agencies . I have been through that stuff and don't need too.

Man u got 100 reviews and been on since '10, so your telling me it's always gonna be something in the hobby world lol. I have found and been told some providers are not very reliable lol

"I use Eccie as a reference for research on providers I have a desire to see. But when a decision is made I contact them through P411 so they may look into me as well. I have no problem with the screening process as it works both ways, but I am not doing the providers work for them, sorry. That's why I have a P411 account. If you choose not to see me it's ok by me, just looking at my Eccie info heck I might not see me either lol.
I will send a PM from Eccie that they have P411 mail to put my showcase in their lap. Their choice from there. Yes I have seen providers who are not on P411, and it always reminds me how much I like P411. Look at most provider ads..... Send references etc....P411 always welcome

I to can be short notice at times due to the same reasons as you. I saw and ad and contacted the provider only to find out she was not where she said in the ad and wasn't going to be there until that night.....I was like so why ya post the ad if your not ready to work?

The only indys I've seen in the past couple years are from Dallas. Have not seen Houston Indy in some time. I don't blame you bro, like said previously. Variety, dependability, half the price, agency's all day!

Don't throw us away. Some of us Indies have stellar TCB and communication skills.

it should say "why I can't see Indie's"
Yeah, you either got to see the newbie friendly girls for references, which is what I did and its all good. Or get P411. Which I may do later. Since you mentioned travel and booking on short notice, have you considered pre screening?
Seems like you're perfectly content at the agencies, so I don't see what the problem is... IJS

I either go spa or agency. In some cases agency references are not acceptable. I have a P411 but only 2 OKs as I don't use it much (freebie)

Sorry to hear that Max. 100 reviews should be plenty for any girl but then again some of these ladies are not the sharpest knives in the kitchen.

As indicated above, I would suggest p411 it makes the indy life a breeze and that is also how I got through screening and into the agency game. I do agree that agencies are reliable, half the price and on some occasions just as good; however, alot of the ladies are not my cup of tea which is why I go the indy route alot of the time. Although I have been going to alot of Spa's and Agencies lately.

You have got to admit though some and I do stress some of the indy girls are worth the effort when it comes to looks at least.

100 reviews? Big deal, they are mostly on agency girls, so the independents cannot use as references. Writing a bunch of reviews is a poor way to create a list of references.

It's a mix if. Advantages and disadvantages on both sides, on the one hand, with agencies, the scheduler does the TCB for u while with indies, u deal with them urself. It's interesting that my indies have never given me a reason for a No review, so on that side, they win.

Frankly, indies are losing mainly because they have been the biggest time wasters of all in Houston, including those on p411. Am mostly Dallas for indies and no ncns so far. Houston just has too much ncns for me to invest too much.

Well put Max. I am basically in a similar boat. I see some Indys but have an attitude where once it starts to get slightly difficult I quickly move on. More than once an Indy flakes out on me last minute and I ring up an agency and am balls deep in a lovely Latin 30 minutes later - they are always my plan b.
