Default Can Jordan Spieth win the GRAND SLAM of golf.

If Jordan wins the British Open and the PGA Championship in 2015 he will become the first player in history to win all four major tournaments in the same calendar year.

WHY NOT!!! Records are meant to be broken. His biggest competition Rory Mcilroy is out with an ankle injury. His second biggest competition Dustin Johnson just choked on the final hole of the U.S. Open. Jordan is healthy and confident.

He has the lowest scoring average per round on the PGA tour. He is the best putter and the best clutch player on the tour. In the final round on the back nine when everyone else is getting nervous and choking he has proven he can do whatever it takes to win.

Maybe.........I will be pulling for him since he is a local kid. But, you never know who may get on a hot streak.

There are also damn many good players now days, it's going to be difficult. You never say never though. I'll certainly will be pulling for him. Fantastic kid and is down to earth. At the Byron Nelson, I got an autograph from him on a Masters Pin flag I got from eBay. I got it framed & it's in my den.

Spieth shot a 61 yesterday at the John Deere...

Winning one major is tough enough...all four in your entire golf career really tough (only 6 guys have done that, I believe)...all four in the same year: I don't think it will ever happen.

Trivia question: what year did the winners of all 4 majors NOT include a white/European man?

I think he definitely can but it's going to be stuff. Golf is such a fickle mistress.....one bad round can ruin you. I think the British Open will be a major hurdle just do to the level of competition and the travel factor.

Oh ahhh ... let me know when he wins a Grand Slam of anything athletic. Golf is a game, not a sport ...

Golf is one of the hardest competitions to master because it requires unusual physical precision, emotional control and intelligent decision making. A seven footer has a good chance of playing college hoops and a decent chance at the NBA because of the advantages at birth.

Those of us who have played both sports can damn sure tell you why we think winning a golf grand slam in year would be a major accomplishment to admire.

Even though I'm amazed at the athleticism of basketball players, I'm equally amazed at the skill of golfers. The "sport" basketball never got as many "F-Bombs" out of me as the "game" golf.

Jordan's 61 in the third round of the John Deere is impressive but the level of competition at the John Deere is low compared to what it will be at the British Open.

Winning the John Deere would certainly add to the confidence he already has, but the most important thing for him is that he appears to be completely relaxed mentally and completely in control of his game physically. He adjusted his game from the first round beautifully.

We have a winner...kinda weird, eh?

The stars just have to be...so TOTALLY lined up to win all four in a year. Anyone who has played competitive golf knows this. To fuck it up, all you gotta do is get out of the wrong side of bed on the last day of the last major. With a 7 shot lead...

I hope Spieth does it. It'll give pro golf a shot in the arm. St. Andrews is not a hard course if you have a great short game. Putting contest.

I think he won the two hardest ones.

Again, you mistake a sport and a game. I have played both and golf is not a sport. Using your your argument ... basketball is for 7 footers and golf is for little guys. There is no one defending a golfer on the course. There is no movement, other than walking from hole to hole. Baseball is much more athletic than golf. Try hitting a moving target with 40K people yelling at you. Golf, stationary object and library silence ... please.
