I am glad you found someone, when loss or sickness is experienced it is important, it separates aquaintences from true friends.

I thought once I had a friend then I got sick, medical bills (hell they are still calling trying to get blood from a turnip)...long story short when money was gone she was gone, so if you have a friendship that can go beyond money...hang on to it.

I've had an old regular help me out in a time of need, without my asking him to.

I've also "blurred the lines" from time to time with old regulars....just bc it's the hobby doesn't mean you can't meet some quality people who you are able to have maybe something a little more with.

I am sorry for your loss but it sounds like you have someone you can lean on in a time of need, which is great.
