Default Dare I say.......................

That the newly empowered Republicans remind me of premature ejaculators.

They get so excited so fast that things are over in a rush and there is no actual intercourse they just cum all over themselves.

Just sayin that it seems that way to me?

I guess the symptoms could have developed from being negative and voting no for so long that they just can't handle the newly found false sense that someone actually voted for them and expects some kind of rational and sane performance from them?

Delusional= Sheen, Qadaffi, Walker, Gingrich, Palin, Bachman, Limbaugh, BECK, Mathews.

Brainwashed(psyopsed)= Leiberman and McCain

Cool Head= Gates, Clinton, Graham

Caught=Vitter, Spitzer, Ensign, Walker, Koch('s), Sanford, Edwards

Studs= Michelle O, Barack O and Billy C

Well, I was hoping to narrow the scope a bit, but in general, I will say that the Republicans, as a party, are suffering from a severe case of hubris, not unlike the Democrats in 2008, when they had said that the Republicans would be in the political wilderness for decades. Of course, two years later things changed, and round and round we go.

At the very least, the Republican party and its supporters are charged, as they made somewhat of a rebound. That sort of emotion is to be expected. Unfortunately, many of their hopes are misplaced, as most of the new Republicans will ultimately betray them, just as with most of the Democrats (Note my avatar).

So that I'm not disingenuous, I'm not much of a fan of either party, although I favor the Republicans more, since at least some of their rhetoric gives me something to work with (Rhetoric, mind you, not actions). The average Republican is more receptive to free market concepts, and I can usually be persuasive with them. For instance, I managed to convince one of my friends that Palin is a dipshit and that U.S. soldiers shouldn't be deployed all across the globe (He's currently a soldier, and we had served together in Iraq). I'm still trying to convince him that the abortion and gay marriage issues are only distractors in the political sense (Right or wrong, abortion is here to stay, and gay marriage will eventually be accepted in every state of the Union), and that we should end the War on Drugs.

Now, it's time to convince my left-wing friends that the recent Supreme Court ruling in favor of Phelps was actually a good thing. That will be a hard, hard sell, to people both left and right. I'm just disappointed, since I would have thought that most on the left would understand the importance of protecting freedom of speech, no matter how vile. The whole point is to protect that speech which is hated, not that which is popular.

In any case, the U.S. is screwed. It doesn't matter what letter is in front of our politicians' names.

????? FALSE sense that someone actually voted for them? What does that mean? Are you implying that people didn't actually vote for Republicans in November? How do you explain the record shift in seats in the House, the big swing in the Senate (if all the seats had been up, the Republicans would probably have over 60 seats now) and the seismic shift in the state governments? Voter fraud, pushed the wrong button, what was it?

I liked Phil's post also. He might be a Republican that I could share a quaff with.

False sense-ok I feel a lot of voting was not for candidates but against candidates without knowing the issues. A good job was done on "sound bite" issues like "take the country back" "stop socialism" blah blah fucking blah.

It did not take long to expose some of the sound biters as they demanded their health benefits ahead of time and missed the swearing in to attend fund raising events.

It was anger and frustration that led to the shift and it did not include all the bull shit actions of Union Busting, Voter I.D, Abortion limiting, saying the Pledge of Alliance and the Lords Prayer in Schools and rewriting Schoolbooks to teach Creationism.

If there is a Jesus he would be sitting in the Capitol Rotunda in Wisconsin and trying to throw the fucking money lenders and Republican liars and blasphemers out.

2 cents

Since alot of the conversation seems to be about Walker, and the talking point that he ran on one thing, but is doing another...lets look at his 2010 platform:

Repeal 2009 Tax Increases

Cut State Employee wages

Cut State Employee benefits

Refuse $800 million federal grant to build high speed rail

100% Pro-Life...to include in cases of incest, or even when the life of the mother is at stake

Abstinence-only sex education

Opposes state clinics handing out birth control or doing STD testing without parental consent

Supports pharmacists not filling prescriptions for birth control, on religious grounds

Anti-embryonic stem cell research

A quick Google search reveals that he has been taking tangible action against public unions since 1993...furloughing employees, refusing to sign budgets until layoffs occured, eliminating union jobs and replacing them with private contractors.

I didn't know any of this stuff, until I looked it up, since I don't live in Wisconsin. But, its easy to find. Whether you like Walker or not, it is very hard to argue that the voters of Wisconsin did not know exactly what they were getting. (He is the Wisconsin version of Sam Brownback...do you think the voters knew who they were voting for with Sam?)

Lesson - When local politics makes the national stage, and you hear slogans, buzzwords, and talking points from the governing class in Washington...be skeptical.

John Galt. you sir are cruel!!!!! LOL

Many of you Kansans may not be aware of the fact that Brownback, even though he lost his debates to Holland, had something Holland didn't. MONEY. BIG MONEY. OIL MONEY backing via the Koch Brothers from Wichita's Kock Oil. Money talks. Charles and David Koch are multibillionaires who also played a part in the Clinton Impeachment and have given generously to the Tea Party. They are also big supporters of Tax Breaks for the Wealthy (as if they didn't have enough money).

"MONEY. BIG MONEY. OIL MONEY"

Sam is an amateur compared to Kathleen.

He raised $2.9 million

...she raised $5 million in 2006

...she raised $4 million in 2002

Methinks its a little too 'soon' to forget her fundraising exploits.

Maybe the election can be explained with "money. tiny money. almost no money" as Holland spent something like $700 thousand, or 15% of what Kathleen could muster. Seriously, just because he couldn't raise squat, it doesn't automatically mean Brownback raised an obscene amount.
