Political/white house shows/films alway Dem in command??

Anyone else besides me note that darn nearly EVERY FILM or tv show that focuses on politics/the white house/congress, seem to have a 'good/hero' democrat, and 'evil-gop/conservatives'??

I have to point out two shows that don't quite fall into line; Scandal which featured Republicans doing all the things that democrats are famous for; adultery, cheating, vote tampering, over reaching, law breaking, and elitism. Did I mention murder as well? The democrats in Scandal were well meaning but disorganized. Honest but always falling to some nefarious GOP plan. Shanda Rhimes just switched the parties around.

In the West Wing, Martin Sheen was a good president only when he lead like a conservative republican like destroying terrorist bases, rescuing Americans, and stepping aside when the Constitution was in peril. Otherwise, he was just another smart alec, proverb spouting college liberal who was in over his head. The republicans came off pretty good under Sorkin. Alan Alda in the last season as the GOP candidate for president was given a briefcase belonging to his opponent Jimmy Smits. He refused to use what was inside for political purposes though it indicated (incorrectly) that Smits had love child somewhere that he was supporting. Alda called Smits directly and gave the briefcase back.
John Goodman did a turn as the Speaker of the House who became president when the president's daughter was taken by terrorists putting Sheen under duress. Goodman ordered the West Wing people to find him a VP within 48 hours and he did not insist on a republican. He was fair and honest even though stepping up in a crisis would cost him his seat in Congress.

Yep, the GOP looked good under Sorkin most of the time.
