Close Encounters Of The Worst Kind
Thought I’d start a thread where we can share funny stories related to the hobby. I guess it’s kind of like a bloopers reel at the end credits of a movie? Anyhoo, I’ll share the most recent one I had:
This was last year. I was dating a girl in the RW and we lived together. We both got home from work at the same time, went to the kitchen, opened the mail, talked about how our days went, yada yada yada, etc, and I was taking off my jacket, and boom....my hobby phone flew out of the front pocket, slid across the floor, we both looked at it for about 10 seconds and she asked where did I get that phone cause she’s never seen it. Took me a split second to say it was my business phone for business stuff. Since that day, I learned a valuable lesson and that is, to keep my hobby phone at work. A week or 2 after that incident, we broke up and “Motorolagate” was one of the reasons for the split. Kind of sucked though cause I wasn’t active in the hobby at the time, but I was texting providers and chumming it up.
Moral of the story: get yourself a Motorola (hell, even a Nokia) phone, cause those damn things would survive a nuclear holocaust! Seriously. Not a dent or scratch on that thing after it took a rough tumble on the floor!
