Folks:
I liked the description of Chester Brown's book
Paying For It so I ordered it from Amazon. It arrived yesterday and I'm up to the third chapter on page 69 now and can recommend it to anyone interested in pay for play from either side of the transaction. Interesting and funny. While the dust cover describes it as "a comic-strip memoir about being a john" it is more nearly a graphic novel with the scenes and characters drawn rather than described. It's a very low keyed presentation, like the author, apparently. A "non-fiction novel" with notes in the back to elaborate on what the characters say without derailing the narrative.
I think a lot of customer guys would recognize some of the fears and fumbles. Maybe some of the sense of relief as well from realizing that there are alternatives to going out and (somehow) conjuring up a romantic relationship with someone to be met later in order to be able to have sex.
I'd like to thank Vyt again for the original post.
