Default Uh-oh. Ebola in Dallas

Let's hope this is contained:

http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/30/health...html?hpt=hp_t1

Hopefully it is just a one-off case and the patient hasn't infected others.

But everyone on the plane he took back to the US is going to be sweating.

There's a hold-up in The Bronx
Brooklyn's broken out in fights
There's a traffic jam in Harlem
That's backed up to Jackson Heights
An Ebola case in Dallas

On the other hand, Ebola could take care of all those man-made problems in New York.

WTF does "transfer by body fluids" means....if he sneezes on the gas pump, can ebola be transferred virus? If an infected person has sweat on the palms of their hands, can ebola be transferred thru a handshake or dollar bill exchange?

Pretty much, yes.

If the surface is still moist and you touch it, you can get it. Especially if you touch your mouth or nose while the virus is still live on your skin.

Ebola patient coughs on his hand, shakes hands with you, then you pick up a muffin or bagel and eat it.

That may be one possible transmission route. I'm not sue of the likelihood, but all the African Ebola workers that I see in the news are covered head to foot in latex and plastic. So it looks like even getting it on your skin may do the trick.

If that is true; then the CDC needs to tell the public who this guy is and what/when he was during the duration he was in the US.

If they are serious about tracking all possible contacts; then screw his HEPA privacy. Put his face out in the public so everyone can assess if they had contact and come forward.

They are already doing that.

I'm sure they are contacting everyone he flew with.

I'm watching al-Jazeera America (seriously). They're reporting his HIPAA rights are paramount and they will not release his identity. They will try to trace his contacts conventionally. He's from Liberia. Allah Akbar!

Why would they contact everyone who was on that plane? First of all we have been getting some false information about Ebola. Although Ebola symptoms are devastating and 90% of those that contract the virus succumb to it. Ebola is still far less contagious than the Cold or the Flu. Ebola is transmitted through direct contact with the bodily fluids of infected individuals. Bodily fluids such as Blood, Urine, Semen, Saliva. Contrary what's being put out there Ebola isn't transmitted through Air, Water or Food. This hype about this new strain is Airborne is nonsense. Viruses often mutate that only means a small molecule of their DNA changes that doesn't mean their mode of transmission changes. By the way the reason why Ebola is so prevalent in Africa and hard to contain and eradicate is because Ebola is a Zoonosis. A Zoonosis is an infectious disease which originates from animals and infects man. In the case of Ebola Monkeys and Fruit Bats are the primary animal carriers. If you come in contact with their feces, urine or sustain a bite that breaks the skin you can contract the disease and of course pass it onto another person, an animal however cannot contract Ebola from an infected human.

No, but they're playing by liberal rules. Need I remind you of the HIV "epidemic". A disease with civil rights. It takes a lot more contact to pass HIV along but look how it spread.
