Are they still requiring you to where facemasks at Kyoto? Was thinking of heading there this weekend but can't stand wearing a mask while getting massaged.

I was there recently and yes, they did. Interestingly, the girl wasn’t.

I think the last 3 times I was there I only had to wear the mask at the entrance, to the room, to the shower, to the sauna, and back to the room. Once in the room, the masks came off. In fact, the last time I was there, the girl wasn't wearing a mask at all, the whole time.

ymmv depending on the provider. As stated mama will likely give you one at the door. Once getting undressed anywhere I take mine off. Jenny at Kyoto always made the effort to put it back on for me. Others may not care.
