Default Tourism Decline

Thank you President Trump

Quote:
While tourism is booming across the rest of the world, the U.S. is a notable loser this year as tens of millions of international visitors are choosing to travel elsewhere—costing the economy up to $29 billion—and risking millions of jobs.

One of the larger groups impacting states like Florida and Texas are our friends to the North- Canadians. They are keeping their money in their pockets and keeping condos' and other rentals vacant while they punish states who support this nitwit.

Down 38% from years prior.

Hmm. I wonder how those states who enjoy tourism will appreciate that; and Canada isn't the only country who has labeled the USA as a concern. Canada makes up about 25% of all travel dollars coming into the US, and were' talking about a 2.1 billion dollar per 10 percent change in tourism. The mat is over 5 billion dollars in tourism that are being diverted to other countries vs. here...and that's just Canadian dollars.

The combined losses of another 10% of the normal world-wide tourism from other countries is looking more like a huge loss eclipsing almost 30 Billion dollars in tourism bucks. Some estimates from other groups put that loss at as high as 100 BILLION.

Hey Florida----Guess who hates you the most???

EVERYONE- including Canadians, Germans and UK visitors.

Why is that.

They hate that Orange fucking menace as much or more than we do. They see the erosion of not only public policies, laws education and even food policies, but especially how we are treating visitors and are saying - fuck that and fuck them. The promise of freedom, which was such a lure for the rest of the world is being displaced by government overreach, surveillance and the threat of gun violence and no personal rights.

Additionally Canada has done some dealing with the folks in Greenland and got mineral rights, and created some limits and tariff retaliation to the US where even things like Energy from gas, oil and electric are gonna start going up substantially. The hearty folks in MN will soon be paying about 25-30% more for electricity due to the dear leaders fucking stupidity and outrageous demands.

Mr. 2 weeks a TACO has now announced that a strongly worded letter will be sent to those countries who don't bow down to kiss the ring- and that letter will likely be placed in that countries permanent record- the supreme threat of all threats for ppl with a junior high mental capacity.

He's such a great negotiator. He couldn't negotiate a free refill on a drink at Chik Fil A.

Actually- most ppl who hate america- hate the MAGAts, and their RedHats. BUT they only compromise about 36% of registered American Voters.

So essentially- 36% of Americans make the entire world hate them, the current POTUS and cabinet, and the political positions of our government.
  • If you own a REDHAT or have an american flag with a guys name on it- you may be part of the problem.
  • If you use or identify as MAGA- you ARE the problem.

And that is why the world is boycotting the US with purchases, goods, travel, or investments. Winning sure must feel like losing if you are someone who makes a living off tourist dollars. But hey, may you have the day/ week/ year that you voted for.

I find this hard to believe. Are we to believe that people are flocking to places like France, England, Germany, Sweden, Greece or other EU places? With the fanciest hotels booked completely with "migrants"? Where would they stay?

I would venture a guess (if we are to believe Forbes), that the people NOT traveling to the US aren't going anywhere at all.

Florida has struggled to get international travel numbers back to levels from before the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the biggest draws (usually) is Disney. That steaming pile of dung with massive box office flops isn't doing itself any favors.

So, if people aren't coming to the US with their travel dollars, they aren't going anywhere?

Lol. You seriously believe that?

Of course people are flocking to France, Greece, Italy, Germany and other EU nations, just like they have for centuries. Only now, moreso than before. Have you ever been to Greece? Tourism is what they do best.

The guess you ventured here isn't really lining up with reality. Europe is currently experiencing a huge surge in tourism - many folks, like myself, visit there frequently (I typically go 2 or 3 times a year). While tourism here is way down - and for good reason.

Facts don't care whether you believe them or not - which has always been an issue with MAGA - they only believe the "news" that makes them feel good.

Well, real life on planet earth differs quite a bit. Europe is constantly hosting tourists from all over the world. Why the hell would anyone who isn't white want to visit the US right now? We're seeing from the numbers it seems they don't - and for good reason.

I was just going to leave this here but I have a question. Is America better or worse than this? Just curious....

Moving the goal posts, I see. You originally brought up Europe, and how you think people not coming to the US to spend their travel dollars aren't spending them anywhere (which is a ludicrous assertion - America has never had a monopoly on world tourism).

Now you're posting far right musings about the collapse of Mexico border towns? As if anyone would recommend going to Progeso or Nogales to vacation? Lol.

I should have known better than to expect a serious, good faith conversation with a MAGA.

tourism is down but to make the remark that the usa is hated by many is an obvious thing

this country has for years been hated by many countries including many in europe and parts of canada also

some of this hatred is sheer jealousy, the french come to mind on that one

muslims hate us and countries we give millions to in aid hate us also

thats nothing new. alot of them that get money handed to them say they love us but in reality, they hate us

nothing changes that

The hatred of the USA used to be, at least in part, rooted in jealousy. Now, thanks to MAGA, it's mainly just pure hatred. The numbers don't lie. trump just lost us $29 billion in tourism. Because everybody (except his voters) fucking hates him and his administration of unconstitutional goons.

The larger muslim faith doesn't like us because of the entire middle east fiasco that's been playing out for thousands of years, and we are infidels. But that aside- the rest of the world who are not of that faith, see's that this administration is dismantling all the good things that the rest of the world used to be jealous of. Idealism. We had good ideas, morales, and laws that protected EVERYONE, not just citizens.

We've become the laughing stock of the free world, and all of Europe. The only thing they respect or like about us is our money and our military. We still keep a lot of anarchy at bay when it comes to world politics, but there is so much un-rest everywhere- that even Japan has decided to build some bigger badder ships. The proposed isolation of the USA is what is forcing all these other nations to do what japan is doing, and inciting bad actors to be even more nefarious.

What use to be good ideas, and philosophy has been replaced by the bible, phone, meme card, cologne, and red hat swindler who loves to bang hookers. (that last part is a little hypocritical but hey, here we are).

When the philosophy goes from trust but verify to, fuck you, pay me, and pay my entourage- while I build my cyber coin empire..the play is the short play. Not the long play. Trumps lining up his family for fortune and selling the US to do it. Selling it's resources to the highest bidder, and the dissolution and reliance of trading partnerships to a mindless group of lemmings who don't know why the tin foil is causing a rash around their head and ears.

The rest of the world hates seeing America turn into a bigger version the renown total shit show of "A Current Affair", but since that was Rupert Murdoch's entry into the US and it's coffers, the toe hold and lapse of all and any good judgement has landed us into a daily SNL skit / Mad Magazine copy. In fact if it was as benign as either of those, it would be funny, but since we have nobody checking balances, the world gets a front row ticket to absolute shittiest show it town.

Step right up, step right up.

MAGA is "Make America Great Again"

What is wrong with that? You should love your country and do what is best for it. Don't you have any children? Don't you care? Maybe you should move.

besides being civilized and actually a preference towards cleanliness and being tidy- Japanese people are not like the untamed yard apes that populate the middle east and the UK in masses. I'm sure there are some sections of town that are more bustling, but generally- Japan is like going to the nicest mall in america, and there is nobody yelling or talking on the cell speakerphone, and throwing garbage on the ground. The culture is demure and inviting, not- loud and obnoxious. Like the good ol' Frenchies or the US has become. Hell, even the bulk of the UK isn't as bad the US when it comes to tossing garbage out the window or just on the ground. (Manchester not withstanding- they are literally just hooligans)

We will literally have to make America great again after trump and his mafia goons rape and pillage the country to line their own coffers.

The Constitution, the rule of law, the history of our how our partnerships around the world made us great in the first place... none of that means anything to trump. Neither does the truth or basic decency. We're a global embarrassment and laughingstock because of trump and MAGA. The current tourism numbers bear that out.
