Bed Bath and Beyond’s CEO Announces Company is Closing All Retail Stores in Newsom’s California
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/202...t-reality-bed/
Crime, shoplifting, high taxes, regulations, non business friendly environment….
Why would anyone do business in the Democrat shithole of California? More businesses will probably follow suit. Silly Democrats

Huh? I thought they went bankrupt and closed all their stores. Apparently now they're reopening some stores.
I suspect the Gateway Pundit, when it says Bed, Bath and Beyond is closing stores in California, is mistaken or lying. That's really shabby journalism. At least when the New York Times and the Associated Press misrepresent the truth, as they frequently do, there's some shred of reality backing what they write.

Horrible journalism for sure.
That doesn’t mean that they are ignoring California buyers though.
From newsweek. https://www.newsweek.com/bed-bath-be...cklash-2116620
Instead of opening stores in California, the retailer says it is working to establish a quick delivery service in the state.
Maybe instead of insulting California and its consumers they should have played up how much they wanted their business.

What a credible news source! They just recently opened one brick and mortar store in Nashville after closing all of their stores in 2023. You can't close stores that were already closed. Regardless, California seems devastated about the announcement of not opening a store there.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...s/85748544007/
"After their bankruptcy and closure of every store, like most Americans, we thought Bed, Bath & Beyond no longer existed," California Gov. Gavin Newsom's press office said in response to the announcement on X. "We wish them well in their efforts to become relevant again as they try to open a 2nd store."

While any respect I had for the Gateway Pundit went out the door, when Marcus Lemonis speaks, people should listen. He's turned around a lot of unprofitable companies. Yes HoHound, there are a lot of people who won't do business in California. A quote from Lemonis from your link:
California has created one of the most overregulated, expensive, and risky environments for businesses in America. It’s a system that makes it harder to employ people, harder to keep doors open, and harder to deliver value to customers.
The result? Higher taxes, higher fees, higher wages that many businesses simply cannot sustain, and endless regulations that strangle growth. Even when the state announces a budget surplus, it’s built on the backs of ordinary citizens who are paying too much and businesses who are squeezed until they break.

Google:
There is only one known Bed Bath & Beyond Home store location currently, which opened in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 8, 2025. This is the first brick-and-mortar location since the company closed all of its original storefronts in 2023 after filing for bankruptcy.
Past closures:
The original company filed for bankruptcy in 2023, closing all its physical stores.
New ownership and brand:
The Bed Bath & Beyond brand name and digital assets were purchased, leading to the new "Bed Bath & Beyond Home" concept.
Limited locations:
The new owner, The Brand House Collective, Inc., has only opened this first store to date.

Gateway pundit, townhall, revolver. Who with good sense reads any of those trash websites and believes it’s fact based. Oh yeah we know who.
