A retired Colorado County Sheriff known for being hard-charging and by-the-book was sentenced on Tuesday to serve 30 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to trading "forbidden subject" for sex with male prostitutes.

There are two ironies in this story:

He was honored as the "Sheriff of the Year" by the National Sheriffs' Association in 2001.
He will be serving his sentence in the jail named after him.

Another lesson here to stay away from "prohibited substances" in the hobby.

The C.I. was probably picked up for "prohibited substances," not prostitution, and then flipped on his clients to avoid jail time. The sheriff would have had no jail time if it was only hobby-related offenses, and the cops would have probably done him a favor and let him out of there.

The goods news is that the sheriff will have ample time to experiment with his sexuality. For us it's prison, for him it's heaven!

That could be a hard 30 day sentence for him to serve. If he enjoys his time there he may be arrested again several times after his release.
