Yes, it overwhelmingly passed the Senate, with 78 bipartisan votes. The above 15 didn't vote for it, and are to be commended.

WOW..disarm the FDA....I think the families of the persons who dies from Listeria ins the last year or so...from a farm that wasnt inspected until after the fact...would wish to have greater FDA authority...since the farm who has now been closed...and the family ruined...because two brother wanted to short cut the anti-microbial wash and didnt do it...allowed a deadly bacteria into the food chain...and what 30 people died in agony...all to save a few bucks...

I hope you and your family doesnt suffer the same fate due to cutbacks that only the Federal government can provide...

One would think that safety in our food supply would be none political...apparently not....

BTW...how do they suggest to help keep the food chain safe...oh...yeah....voluntary enforcement of safety controls by the farmers....

The FDA is in the back pocket of Big Ag and Big Pharma. Keeping the food supply safe is secondary, enriching their owners is first. If you think they have your best interests at heart, you are delusional.

The intelligence of all the current FDA employees COMBINED cannot figure out that pot helps cancer patients and you can't die from it, and yet they approve thousands of drugs that mame our unborn and kill people every single day and are not held accountable for their actions.
