Ichiro traded to Yanks
As someone who spent sometime in Seattle it is shocking to see Ichiro being traded to the Yankees for two minor leaguers. He was very good for so long. He will either sink or swim in NYC.
What does this mean for Ichiro? It means he just saved a bunch of money in insurance by switching to Geico.

I agree he was wasting away in Seattle. Hopefully this will give him a kickstart.

Now he's in a different world, one for which he's well-suited. Ichiro can focus on himself as he is wants to do and blend in just fine with the Yankees. He is not someone on whom the leadership mantel will be thrust on account of his salary; he is just another Yankees star. This is the perfect place for Ichiro: the searing spotlight, the stage of October, the reminder that baseball doesn't have to be doldrums and high draft picks.
Maybe, just maybe, he can unleash some of that batting-practice power and attack the short porch in right field.
Whatever he does, New York will love Ichiro because it's tough not to. Even as his hair grays and his game slows a step, he plays with such style and panache, from his flamingo swing to his .357 Magnum arm. He is 5-foot-9, 175 pounds, lean as a chicken cutlet, all of these skills emanating from this tiny package.

Damn! I think Dennis is in love.
He is right, though. The pressure is greatly reduced. He will be one to watch.

With A-Rod out it looks like Ichiro will lead off and Jeter behind him.
And Mokoa ==> when you are a Pirates fan you have to look around and find something to cheer for...

I try and not think about it. That was the Cubs best shot. We had a healthy Prior and Wood and still choked.

Yep, we can all blame bartman (I do, I blame everybody), but the cubs choked big time.

Cubs still had a 93.0 chance to win that game according to STATS inc at the time. It was a flippin foul ball.
