The Onion ran a spoof naming North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un "the Sexiest Man Alive".

The Chinese newspaper People's Daily fell for it, and proceeded to congratulate Kim for this distinction by posting a slide show of 55 photos of Kim in various displays of his sexiness!

It was me trying to poke some fun at Jack with some lighthearted humor. Maybe you missed it, but the did put the LOL at the end. How can conservatives hope to answer the progressive agenda if they have literally no idea what it is? I think a healthy first step would be to ask a liberal what liberals think, and not take the word of someone who never listens to liberals.

This is another danger that comes from living inside the epistemiologic "bubble" formed by FNC, Drudge and similar bathroom-wall type blogs in the infotainment sphere (along with one's own like-minded email correspondents and FB friends). One begins to say things that people recognize immediately to be not-of-this-world pronouncements, "noise to be ignored." You become like an overzealous Star Trek fan who never talks about reality.

Bubble living has proved harmful to the GOP, even undermining their electoral prospects. First, by keeping partisans - and even candidates - deceived about the actual debates going on in the country.

Fox tried to convince viewers the 47% are in some sense net "takers" from society, people who don't contribute. At the same time, Americans in the street understand 2/3 of those who pay not income tax in fact pay tax at a higher rate than does Mr. Romney himself. (Payroll tax is regressive: a worker who earns so little that he pays no income tax gets hit with a rate of 15.3%.)

Worse than presenting a false narrative, they somehow came to believe this message was resonating with people. They forced their candidate to talk to people who believe that story, even while doing so alienated the general electorate.

We can tell Mitt Romney gets his news from Fox by looking at two clues:

One, I could see on his face in the second debate that he was not lying. He seriously had no idea the President had on 9/12 called the attack upon the CIA outpost in Benghazi an "act of terror." He had not heard that before because it didn't fit the story line.

Two, he had written no concession speech, although all the polls and data indicated he was heading for a loss. If he seriously thought he was winning, he must have been getting his news from Fox: nobody else thought he had a chance.
