Three-time Olympian runner Suzy Favor Hamilton has admitted to leading a double life as an escort.

She apologized Thursday after The Smoking Gun website reported she had been working as a prostitute in Las Vegas.

The 44-year-old Favor Hamilton lives in Madison, Wis., where she owns a realty company with her husband. The Smoking Gun said she has been working for the past year for an escort service.

Soon after the story appeared online, Hamilton released a series of tweets, saying that she was "drawn to escorting in large part because it provided many coping mechanisms for me when I was going through a very challenging time with my marriage and my life."

A middle-distance runner, Favor Hamilton competed for the U.S. at the Olympics in 1992, 1996 and 2000, but did not win a medal. She won seven U.S. national titles.

Hamilton, who went to Wisconsin, is the most decorated female runner in NCAA track and field history, has appeared in a Nike commercial and has done promotional work for the Disney and Rock 'n' Roll Marathon running series.

That is extremely reasonable for a traveling Lady in Vegas TBH. In Vegas I am 450 with the special of 380 if prebooked by a return Gent. To work Vegas a lot she has to be fit, it is NONSTOP you could run a revolving door from sun up to sun down. You can say "Sorry, I need a shower, I need sleep, and I already saw 3 people today" They say they don't care about any of that and still want to come over. I break my low volume rule and see 4-5 a day(which is so hard when 1-2 are multi hours) and go through a case of redbull per Vegas trip, it's insane.
