Have you done the math and figured out how much you can afford to spend?

I would much prefer a small apartment to a hotel/motel. Not only feels more safe but adds more of a home feel to the experience.

An apartment has its advantages....but the main disadvantage....is that people soon see multiple different men entering and leaving your apartment. Most easily deduct what is happening at your apartment, and soon customers feel the scrutiny while coming and going.
I personally find apartments ideal only for very low volume providers, for a provider's activities attract attention. With a hotel, you can change your location weekly. Even if someone has suspicions about the usage of the room, you are gone long before any confirmation of those suspicions occurred.
In Shreveport/Bossier, I vote for a hotel.

I have been thinking...
I have been thinking about getting an apartment also.
I am based in Alexandria, for the most part. The cost of
hotels can be expensive,so I have been looking to rent
a decent studio apartment and save money. Of course
safety and discretion are my top priorities and I started
thinking about traffic in and out of the apartment and
nosy neighbors. This is an interesting thread.

My advise would be stay in the extended stay type places their are a few along the way I-20 in S'Port and Bossier. Take advantage of the points programs they offer, I know marriott (Residents Inn, Court Yard Suites, Fairfield Inn and a few others under Mariott company) has a good system that you get free room after so many stays etc...

well you can do like 1 of our old time favorite did, she brought a house and made a playroom in the back, and that where she saw her clients at. a few times she had double there, and once and a while do do a motel to break up the routine, just a idea

Private Incalls are just as safe or safer as any upscale hotel! Obviously the place, price and location do have something to do with your safety and privacy thou. You just need to know how to run your business the right way and things should go smoothly. What's the difference in an extended stay and a 6 month lease when it comes to someone being nosey. I'm just saying, you don't have to work out your place constantly, so if you want one, get it.
My opinion, It's good to travel and see mainly regulars from your private incall or very established gentlemen only. Don't just bring someone your not all the way sure about to your residence, as far as for the rest of them its best that you should use your hotel option or do some Outcalls and switch things up a bit. I don't see why you would have any problems. I Don't!
