Quick question about reporting a license plate

I don't hobby much but recently visited a lady I had seen before at a local motel. She didn't have a car and I agreed to take her to grab some food. She wasnt dressed inappropriately per se, but certainly looked the part. As we were getting back into my vehicle I noticed someone approaching my driver's side. I chose to ignore them and get in. As we pulled away they hopped in their vehicle and began to follow me (odd for sure). At a stoplight I looked up and it was an older lady shaking her head and then showinh me a pad and paper (I presume she was telling me she was writing my license down). I shrugged it off and drove on as she followed. After about 2 mins of seeing where this went, I pulled over to see what they would do and they went on around while staring me down. I kind of chuckled, shook my head and took her back to her room. As she was getting out to go inside she gave a flirty flash and unbeknownst to me the crazy lady who had followed us had found and pulled in behind me again.

I am an easy going guy, but this was annoying. After yet another odd encounter as I pulled my vehicle in front of her, she drove off in disgust.

And FINALLY we get to my question. There isnt a whole lot of question what I was up to. To my knowledge there wasnt any video and we certainly didnt do anything illegal. She absolutely has my license and could call it in. If she did, I think it would be extremely flimsy, but could she accuse me of solicitation? If she did, would the police contact me via a visit or a "Dear John" letter? As most of you, I need to be discrete. I dont fear any legal ramifications as I did NOTHING wrong. I do fear a letter. This occured in kcmo while I live in Lawrence

I don't think you have much to worry about. Since you hadn't engaged in anything illegal, whatever she tells LE will probably go nowhere, especially since you were in KCMO and your tag is a Douglas County tag in Kansas. I don't think KCPD are going to drive 30 miles to ask you questions. However, they may put your plates on a watch list so if you see another provider at a KCMO hotel and a cop decides to do a check on various plates, it could get tagged. Chances are, however, it goes nowhere.

KCPD will do nothing with that information - they could care less. There was no illegal activity. Looking the part or having a questionable appearance means nothing. Crap, if they arrested every questionable appearing person in this city the city jail would have to increase 10X in size. Forget about it.....

With 100+ murders in KC last year I'm sure they have more pressing things to deal with than tracking your plate. People can follow you as long as they aren't stopping you from going about your business. Let it go!!

For all the le know is it could have been a friend or relative giving hera ride... I think I would have gotten out and walked up to her car and ask why she is following. Bet that might shit her Depends.

Nothing to worry about really.

If it is an ordinary civilian without any connections, she couldn't even get the tag ran to find out the address. They keep that stuff locked down pretty tight now, and abuse of the system for looking people up for non-official reasons is an easy way to get a pink slip. All that started to change when that actress got killed in her own front door years back.

Ken - I think you might be over reacting - Maybe the old lady was trying to get your girls digits - to setup a date? You know a lonely old lady looking for some attention, husband of 40+ years has passed, the casinos just aren't doing it for her anymore? :P

Next time take out your phone and start taking pics of the car, plate and person inside. Maybe rattle her. If confronted you can say that you are concerned about a stalker.
