Depends what kind of drunk you are I should think. If you can handle your liquor and maintain equanimity, why not? I will say though that I'm loath to drink alone with others, so unless the people I'm with are drinking, I'll get intoxicated with something else

I believe that most providers would prefer a sober client, some will not see a client who has been drinking.
I prefer to hobby sober but to each his own.
