Best areas to stay in - Medical Center (I-10 between 410 and 1604) and Airport (281 between 410 and 1604).
Do NOT stay Downtown - inconvenient for most.

Do not go downtown this Wed thru Sun.

Huge annual Music Educators convention coming. Downtown hotels will be full, parking limited, high school kids everywhere making traffic bad, the Rivercenter Mall will be packed in the food court etc.

Just letting you know.

The Riverwalk is part of downtown...so that is the area these gentlemen are suggesting you stay away from, and I completely agree. Downtown is difficult in general; dealing with the traffic of a huge music convention on top of that?
