The reason is because of the physical shape of a woman and the way you lift them. You are not lifting them initially by picking up their entire weight with two hands as you do a barbell/curlbar.
You kinda of tilt them, then lift with your legs, back and arms and cradle them, whereas on a curl you are lifting the entire weight with just your biceps (but if you cheat you also use your back and shoulders).
Plus it's a mental thing. It's much more fun to pick up a 115# woman.
