I know it was a deposit. I did, in fact, take it back and got my money back. I guess I wasn't too clear on my complaint. To me, it seems that they, and we, would be better off selling the cheap little oyster opening knives for a little above what they were worth which I estimate about $2.00 or maybe $3.00 rather then make us put down a $10.00 deposit. If we lose them, which would be easy given the crowds. drinks, etc etc. we would only be out a couple of bucks, instead of !0.00. Unless, of course, they are planing on not getting them back and pocketing the $10.00.
It already costs $20.00 just to get on the grounds and get the privilege of buying coupons to buy the food. Not complaining about that tho. It's all going for a good cause. Just saying a $10.00 deposit for a $3.00 knife seems to be over the top. Next year I'll bring my own damn knife and keep my mouth shut.
Not blaming St. MU for this. I understand that they hire a company to run this thing for them. They probably aren't even aware of it, unless the Brothers go out
and buy a few oysters.
