Hobby phones

I know this question has been addressed before ,but I cannt find any info on it.
How does one connect or register a throw away phone from walmart or wherever without using there own home phone. I have one but regiserted it with my home phone so Im getting a new one. I cannt find a public phone anywhere in the Tonawanda area? PLS HELP

You just make up a fake number and name if they ask.
This always worked for me...

I thought you had to be on a phone to register (then they would have that number) or can you register with a fake internet email address.

Got a burner phone at walmart and they set it up right in the store after giving them a fake name and phone #....
Also did this from a payphone which are getting hard to find....lol

Super markets and post offices should have pay phones you can activate a burner phone from.

I just bought a Tracfone and used my regular cell phone to register it and just dialed *67 first which worked fine. No need to speak to a human as every thing is automated. When asked for a number to contact me I just typed in a bogus number.

Bought the Tracfone at Walmart with cash.

Safety and caution are fine and well but for my money you're doing yourself more stress damage worrying about the LE aspect of a hobby phone. The hobby phone is primarily to keep your real phone number away from potentially conniving ladies.

I'll grant anything is possible, but is there much precedent to local LE obtaining real life info from calls made to prostitution stings? Exceptions granted to the Eliot Spitzers among us.

I just did some research and even using*67 your actual phone number will be logged on the phone companies log sheet.

Yah, I think it's very useful getting one of these phones nothing beats some crazy provider texting you at all hrs of the day asking if they can borrow money because they need to pay rent or some other insane excuse.
