Hello sweetie!

I hope you changed your password immediately!
This has happened to me before and I was able to stop
the hacker from doing further damage by simply changing my
password. Stay safe!

xoxo

Are these passwords related to PC mail handler (i.e. Outlook) or on the net (i.e. Hotmail?)

Some e-mail systems handle the nasty stuff better than others, but all are susceptible.

Whatever e-mail system you are using...

Get anti-virus software and keep it updated.

Avast! Free Anti-Virus Software

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

There was a time I was hosting a live web-cam show via yahoo for one of my regs and some guy sent me a link from nowhere. He told me someone had stole my photos. I clicked the link and it was a fake yahoo page. I enter my password on this fake page and there's a picture... but it wasn't me. I thought about it for about a minute and thought damn something's up. I immediately changed my password and the guy, that sent me the link, started buzzing me on yahoo messenger cursing me out because I changed my password. It was toooo funny but quick thinking on my part

Change that password girl!

I never used Outlook. Heard too much about opening mail there and getting your address booked jacked.

Gmail/Hotmail/Yahoo are the ones I use. But I never have my password stored.
Only way I figure they could get it is with a keystroke logger. But if you cut-n-paste each character or blocks of your password that would bypass the logger.

So, any problems if you are already logged in without your password being saved?

OH, and Mokoa is correct in saying have up to date virus checkers.

Honey I use Gmail and I never let it "remember" my password if that's what you're asking and this has happened to me twice. One time Gmail sent me a notice telling me someone logged into my account from China... that scared the shit out of me now my password is literally 16 characters long.

I would never recommend Norton to anyone. They were good once but went downhill ever since they were taken over by Symentac.

Avast!, AVG and Malwarebytes are the best out there these days.

I second this advice. Norton used to be the industry leader, without question. No longer. Mokoa's recommendations are what we use. Two thumbs up!
