Default RIP David Bowie

He was a master poet, i like the subtle word play in his verse.

This is one of my favorites.

Lots of greaf songs, here is one forgot about till today. You can skip the intro, go to about 45 second and the song starts.

Suffragette City.

Bowie is going to be a legend. He was a great artist and his music was a leap forward from other artists of his era. Too bad he only came to Rochester once in 1976 but I was there and have great pictures although they came from the "nose bleed section" . Suffragette City was one of his great songs and used to get me really pumped when going out partying. May he rest in peace and and know he will never be forgotten.

I realize what I am saying is fucked up and I should be ashamed of myself but news of Bowie dropping dead has revitalized my interest in some old material I have laying around. The Ziggy Stardust album is an all-time classic.

Caught his "Sound and Vision" tour at the old convention center in the Falls, which is now the casino. Probably the last good thing to happen in that town.

You know if I'm not mistaken, and I may be, I believe this song was actually the b-side to Starman which is an awesomely fun song from the Ziggy Stardust album. Weird because most people don't even really remember Starman anymore. I wuv it though..

His whole new Blackstar album is on YouTube in HD.
Listened to it and got the impression he wrote it knowing he was dying and wouldn't be around for long. He was an innovative creative musician but never really was a big fan.

Standard reaction. Seems that happens with the death of most musicians, along with climbing sales of their material.
When he came out with "Let's Dance", I became a bigger fan than I already was. Up to that point he had already put out a lot of great material, but for me that put him over the top. Not to mention the exposure it gave to the soon to become legendary SRV.

I do not always fall into that catagory, but in this case, i am finding a lot of appreciation for the peotry in his songs, being pseudo poet myself, lol. His songs do not always mean what is on the surface.

It is hard to pick a favorite album.

Maybe
American Woman, The Guess Who
Point of Know Return, Kansas
Moving Pictures, Rush
Strange Days, Doors
Duke Jupiter 1

Not sure if you mean Bowie Album, undecided. To my embarressment, I really have never listened to a Bowie album, nor do i own one. Just what i happen to catch on the radio or now youtube.
