Planning a trip to Houston next week...

First of all wanted to know the best area to get a hotel in. I normally get a suite. Any other tips or if anyone has temporary in call space next week let me. How far in advance should I announce my trip to Houston for maximum results...

thanks for the info. I lived in Houston in my early 20's and have friends and family there. Looking forward to my trip and leaning towards the galleria area probably. Will give an update when plans are finalized. Looking forward to making new friends in H-town. I love it there!
