I recall when the Tonkin incident was reported and it didn't make sense at the time. A close friend from the early days of the Kennedy administration had an official MOS of a PIO in that part of the world and related information not reported then in the media, but today with the current standards of the past 20 years would have been front page news. That reality today is a major problem with conducting information gathering, planning, and implementation in an environment that maximizes the opportunity for success and reduction of casualties.

That's why the recent releases of "information" and "allegations" are not in the interest of national security, but are motivated ONLY FOR POLITICAL REASONS. It's disgusting.
