Poker Cash games in Dallas

Are there any poker rooms or poker leagues in Dallas/Fort Worth that offer real money? By real money, I mean more than $1000 for winning a tournament or even a satelitte seat to a major tournament like the The River or World Series of Poker.

Any non-underground $1-$2 cash games work too.Too many underground games I found or was told about have ridiculous buy-ins and rakes. I know they have tournaments and Buck's, but the prizes are small. I'm trying to avoid multiple trips to Oklahoma. I wanna limit my trips there to weekends and holidays when the competition is soft.

Not really. I've never known if a private tournament unless it's just an agreene t to play unless it's a cash game freeze out (winner takes all). As you are likely discovering, the economics of private games really only works for higher stakes. 5-10 or 10-20 NL ganes are played here and there, but you need to know someone to get an invitation. And realistically, you need a $5,000+ bankroll.

Crap. I was hoping that wasn't the case. Places like Tampa and Los Angeles have legal poker rooms. The only place I know of in Texas is in Eagle Pass and they want a membership fee. I can lose $200 a forget about it in a few minutes, losing $5000 would make me sick. No Texas Holdem in Texas, crazy.

Shreveport or Oklahoma are both good for small cash games.

Winstar is where I go now, but I was trying to out if there were small poker rooms or leagues that pay cash money. I'm trying to avoid putting 140 to 160 roundtrip miles on my car 3 or 4 times a week. But it doesn't look like Dallas has any non-underground options. It loks like I'll have to keep making the drive and buy another car for those trips depending.

I'm more into $1/$2 cash games instead of tournaments. Like I was saying before, the tables at Winstar are super-soft. People call $100 bets to the river with 9-high. I've made $1600 in 22 hours over the past two weeks playing $1/$2 and $1/$3. The poker room at Winstar is bigger than what I've seen in Shrevesport and two hours closer.

The Wednesday tournament at Bucks Dallas only pays $200, and it's a crapshoot because of the structure. Asses and titties help offset that somewhat, but not enough. It'd be nice if they comp'd a lapdance. I'd be there every week if they did.

Spent the weekend at Winstar playing Roulette. Won some pretty good cash. Tables were packed throughout the whole casino. Had to even wait at 1am just to sit down to play in. Was fun though for sure
