When it comes to economic policy in particular, every day it seems the Overton Window skews a few more millimeters leftward, and there's virtually no sign this trend will reverse itself in the near future.

Still, it's hard to escape the sense that the left is on the verge of a big moment in this country, one not seen since at least the 1960s. It could all fizzle out for one reason or another. But right now, there aren't many reasons to think it will.

One glaring fact is left out of the article.

It states that a majority of younger people now embrace Socialist Ideals, and look upon Capitalism as evil. They want to live in a utopian society where everybody is equal in all respects.,

Of course, this doesn't work, because sooner or later, Human Nature will take over. Those that work will get sick and tired of supporting those that don't.

Margaret Thatcher still had it right. Socialism works untill you run out of other people's money.

I have said that I am all for a Socialist, even a Communist Society. That is, as long as I am in charge. I will enjoy my "Dacha on the Volga" while these idealist are digging potatoes.

It discounts redistricting and how influential big money is in politics and that has skewed to the right.
