I am not the expert on Wichita, but I will suggest that you stay away from the Holiday Inn (formerly La Quinta) at Kellogg and Broadway. It is well known as a location for prostitution and the police have done many stings there.

Otherwise, it is not that large a town, so anywhere you stay won't be too far from a client.

I like the Marriott Courtyard in Old Town, the Hyatt Regency downtown, and the Cambridge Suites at the WaterWalk.

Wichita is a tough call on mid-week rooms, there have been times when tired to get a hotel Tue - Thur and not bee able to find a room, but if i tried to book the same hotel from Sun - Thur they will have a room. (They will hold a certain block of rooms for longer stays, Hilton Garden Inn this is very common).

The Courtyard is in old town is way over priced, you have to pay extra to park, the doorman looks like he walked off the street, and the area is dead in the winter. All this from a million point platinum marriott card holder. This place just wasn't for me.

There's always my place. We could discuss the *ahem* FairTax.

I'm sure it's not the most important thing to you but what kind of budget do you normally like to stay within? Makes a big difference in recommendations.

WRT Omaha, a trip or two ago I had a Jacuzzi suite at America's Best Value Inn in Council Bluffs. Downside it's in Council Bluffs and away from the Casinos. Upside is it's close to the airbase. It was less than $130/night with all taxes.

Access to the rooms is all indoors (no outside entrances) but the Jacuzzi Suites are all on the far end of the hotel by an outside door, if that matters to you. It also had mirrors on the wall and ceiling over the king sized bed.

It's not fancy, but it was certainly OK and nowhere near the price of a high end hotel with an in-room Jacuzzi.

I've also stayed at the Settle Inn in Council Bluffs several times. They have some unique theme suites and are about $150 + taxes and such. Regular rooms aren't as high there but most if not all of the theme suites have whirlpool tubs. Access to them is also inside but with numerous entrances. This is much closer to the Casinos and just inside the Iowa state line.

Thanks for all the responses! Based on all the helpful advice, I just arrived this afternoon and found a great place at a reasonable rate.
